Lowest football moment

Can see some people saying it’s the worst they’ve seen us play which isn’t even close, even recently under Grayson and Mcphillips was far worse - what IS the lowest football moment? Taking away off the field issues - the one time you thought ‘this isn’t good for me’

I once went to a PNE game with the parents of our U10's Junior football team
Our manager, who once played a game for PNE (reserves) was a total c##t and got FREE tickets as a treat for the kids.
1 parent had to go with their child and we all sat in a empty section of the stand and watched as PNE got beat 1 - 2

That was the lowest football moment that still stays in my mind till today........Depressing football, in a depressing stand, in a depressing ground, in a depressing town, with a bunch of depressing supporters.....it was.......depressing!!!

Torquay at Wembley, away at Sunderland when we went 1-0 up and then lost (ages ago!) and one end of season Bristol Rovers at home loads of theirs dressed as Pirates, they were going up, we were going down, they mullered us!

Mine is losing to Torquay on a Friday night at wembley and having to drive home in deep depression 🤨
Similar except rushing to the Tube only to sit in relative silence amongst many clad in tangerine attire, couldn't even drown our sorrows as everywhere was shut where we were staying, out in the suburbs. 😞

I would think it's one of the latest ever finishes at Wembley, with an 8.00pm finish plus extra time and penalties.

It was broad daylight when we got back to Blackpool on the coach. Mind you, the driver had followed the traffic flow as we came away from the ground and we were halfway down the M4 before the realised we were following Torquay traffic.

Didn't make the day any better.

That really made me laugh. 😂 😂 😂

Bradford at home was the worst game, it was the expectation from the previous game and for the season. It was the first time in my memory that season we gave it a go with signings and were we almost up automatically except for an exceptional run of results for Oxford. The game itself was
like a death from a thousand cuts, and the one game that I couldn't control my emotions afterward.

It scarred us as a fanbase for a long time, and still does somewhat. I never think a two goal lead is enough.

Yep, I think in the long run it's done is good though. I can't imagine there will ever be a manager arrive here, make it to the play offs and not be reminded of Bradford by the Club staff.

Torquay for me

Stayed in Beaconsfield however there was no public transport or taxis to be had because of the late finish and so we had to start walking back until we could flag down a cab which took ages

Lad we were staying with was at his girlfriends and said he'd left the key under a plant pot - there were hundreds of them !

Ended up sleeping on his front lawn

Swerved Bradford as I had booked a holiday stupidly thinking we'd go straight up

It's an incremental thing isn't it. You think you've had the worst one, then something else comes along.

Re-election was awful, but I'd only been going 2-3 years full time at that point. Although the shame of it was large, there were clubs who seemed like they re-applied every year at that time, and were always successful - Hartlepool, Rochdale, Crewe etc. So it would have been extremely strange if our only attempt at it ended in failure.

The Sherpa thing (or whatever it was called) 2 leg Northern final with Bolton hurt a lot at the time. The feeling that we'd been completely gypped on the night by bad decisions, and lost what appeared to be the only chance ever to go to Wembley with Blackpool, plus having to watch them all celebrating on the pitch at the end. That was a hard one to take.

Bradford obviously stands out, although I wasn't at the game as I was playing that night. So I've only ever had the highlights to judge all the points of debate from on here over the years, leaves you ever so slightly detached from it.

West Ham result was just the culmination of a completely different day to Cardiff. Everything about Cardiff just felt like it was going to happen, nothing about WH did, although we played better in it. I walked alongside a WH fan down Wembley Way, well that was a load of crap he said. I just stared at him - you're effing right it was, you've just been played off the park and still scabbed a win.

Listened to the Bradford game on the radio, never forget been sat in the kitchen heart broken.

As soon as West Ham scored there winner

Afraid to say Tuesday night cuts deep, I’ve been in a proper mood since and I’m not embarrassed to say I sat there with a mixture of anger/disbelief and emotion, felt close to tears in the first half….I honestly do believe it’s been coming this season. It maybe that I loved last season so much this one is depressing me. Went to so many away games and majority of home, now I won’t even go to Wigan on Saturday as can’t prioritise it right now, can’t justify the best part of £100-£150 for me and my family to go. Can’t believe I’m even saying that

Bradford. Numb. We've never been as dominant as a side over the course of a season as then. To lose like that was just shocking.

Brentford away in the Riga/Clark season. There was the odd time that season where we competed in games and looked like a poor Championship. The Brentford game (and I'm sure there were others) just showed how much below the level we were. There were players in that game who won't have played league football again, let alone Championship football.

Gillingham away. Dear Old Muggers season. Nothing particularly unusual about the game, but the atmosphere in the away stand was toxic, with a clear divide amongst fans that was boiling over and borderline (and justified) paranoia that we were being filmed by the 'performance team' in order for the Scum to sue more supporters.

Didn't feel too great when my old man keeled over at Huddersfield this season, but we both agreed that the win more than made up for it.

That Sunderland game in the 70's, Micky Burns. We were going up.to the top flight with 6 minutes to go and we got beat 2-1. My first away game, I was 9.

Listening on the radio trying to find out the score from the Cardiff vs. Orient game in 1978. Even though I knew it would be a "fixed" result with Orient winning away after losing 6 out of their last 8 away games it was still devastating after being so close to promotion the season before. This was followed by virtually 30 years of mainly hurt although there was a few bright spots (Billy Ayre) along the way

Another one, not quite the worst. Bit of a weird one and probably good for another thread but actually WINNING a game and coming away gutted...

Donny away during Muggers. A 'six pointer' against a fellow relegation threatened team. We were pony and I remember chatting to one of their fans walking back to the car. He was patting me on the back, couldn't understand why I thought we were relegated. The writing was on the wall, we were shite.

Toss up between Torquay (Wembley) and Bradford. Torquay, I’d booked a weekend break with the Mrs and was that disappointed I decided to fuck off the stay and come home.

Bradford was equally devastating!

Blackpool vs Millwall. A game I left at half time and swore never to go back to another home game until the Oystons had gone. I wasn't sure at the time whether or not I would set foot in Bloomfield Road again. Although I did for the Huddersfield game that was abandoned due to the pitch invasion. I couldn't miss that. Could I?

I admit I was in tears at home and my wife said if you've done that as a protest then you should be proud. Thank you my love.

Torquay for me. I was working in Chorley at the time with people who supported different Lancashire clubs. I took a planned week off after the final and just moped about. Got back on the Monday to work and someone had recorded the penalty shootout off the radio and played it over the tannoy. mid morning. I was still ticking!

I'm possibly an exception here, but I didn't mind the Torquay defeat because I'd seen us play at Wembley, something I never imagined I ever would. A once in a lifetime experience that was repeated 12 months later then on many subsequent occasions.

Bit of a different low moment, rather than relegations and such.

Watching the League One play-off semi-final (2nd leg) against Luton was extremely depressing for me, I'd completely switched off from Blackpool and football in general. Saw Blackpool were in the play-offs and asked my old man if he fancied going to the cricket club to watch it.

Felt absolutely nowt, the game was so dramatic it should have been one of our greatest collective memories as Pool fans - another classic play-off game comparable to Forest. I realised I was faking enjoyment, I had no connection to any of the players or anything it was just like watching a decent game on TV - it was a horrible realisation I was watching a Blackpool game of such high stakes and drama but I felt nothing. I didn't even bother watching the final.

Mental how quickly the love came back, I'd say the homecoming but it was before that. Pretty much from Belokon winning the case I was scouring social media looking at all Blackpool related posts and looking on the old AVFTT in the build up to the Southend game, the obsession came back hard and fast.

I remember walking out the Torquay game devastated but looking at the twin towers and wishing desperately to go up next season but doing it here. Nothing else mattered. Then it actually happened!

yes that was horrible. I remember getting back to the gaff and the bloke said i’ll give you half hour to drown your sorrows lads. I was with a drinker and a drinker (me) who thought he could drink - big difference. Six pints later bed time, the drinker went bang to sleep, me, head down the great white telephone for two solid hours wrenching my guts up! A horrible end to a horrible night.

There's many to choose from , as mentioned , Bradford, Torquay are up there but losing 7-1 to Barnet was a low point i thought we'd never sink so low to. Then there's the many FA Cup defeats to Non-league opposition , it got to be like a party piece at one point

1967/8 season, thousands of us went to last game of season at Huddersfield we beat them 3-1, only to hear QPR also won at Villa meaning they were promoted to the old First Division by .3 of a goal as it was decided on goal average back then. We were 15 at the time and at the height of teenage angst, no words to describe how devastated we were!

….and I was there for that one too….made worse by the fact it was so effing wet…

Some truth in that Wizaard…the defeat was hard to take but like you I had never expected to see us play at Wembley.….the introduction of play offs was perhaps one of the few things that the football authorities have ever got right….even though they can be cruel.

The day at Oldham when they sent us down and then their fans made the most of it….as far as I’m concerned they can rot in the National League or better still lower for ever…..horrible town horrible fans.
