I‘m not one of them, but that’s a bit harsh...... Are wakners
So do you cover your windscreen then, Allez Allez Allez Allez?...... Are wakners
Not a great idea …….especially if your windscreen suddenly breaks up in several pieces.I’m old school and throw a cup of warm water on mine when needs must
Tried that once. Ended up getting my account frozen.Debit card used as a scraper. Easy Peasy.
be careful Lala it can crack the windscreen due to rapid temp changes,I’m old school and throw a cup of warm water on mine when needs must
I've been doing it for 30 years and not a single crack, use warm water instead of hot.Not a great idea …….especially if your windscreen suddenly breaks up in several pieces.
As for Allez’s comment….what a ….please feel free to fill in what is appropriate.
Knowing how some people treat works equipment it wouldn’t surprise me if it was straight from the kettle. Ah sod it it’s not mine.be careful Lala it can crack the windscreen due to rapid temp changes,
seen it happen a couple of times on works vans
Except that the warm water can in turn freeze on the windscreen. A sheet on the windscreen overnight is the sensible answer.I've been doing it for 30 years and not a single crack, use warm water instead of hot.
Never does unless you go back in to the house for an hour for some reason.Except that the warm water can in turn freeze on the windscreen. A sheet on the windscreen overnight is the sensible answer.
DittoI use one of those reflective silver sun/frost protectors. The kind you see all over Spain for owners to keep their car cool . It has a thermal cushion on the reverse side, you just tuck it into your doors . 30 seconds to put on , brilliant. £1.99 from Aldi
Yep same, been doing it for ages, just lukewarm water all around. It's then melted or mostly gone.I've been doing it for 30 years and not a single crack, use warm water instead of hot.
Doesn't re freeze if you use enough, it can appear done and not be done if you only use a bit. It's the quickest and best way.Except that the warm water can in turn freeze on the windscreen. A sheet on the windscreen overnight is the sensible answer.
But surely that cracks all the glass as it would have to be hot or warm to melt it that fast....Heated windscreen, gone in 60 seconds!
Me too, luke warm water works every timeI've been doing it for 30 years and not a single crack, use warm water instead of hot.
Also, windscreen wipers.Yep same, been doing it for ages, just lukewarm water all around. It's then melted or mostly gone.
Makes me laugh people scraping away or coming up with more creative methods when lukewarm water is readily available, because they've heard a scare story of it cracking from people using far too hot water.
All this cracking windscreens stuff.... some cars have instant heat, that doesn't crack windows, nor does putting the Defroster on the back window.

No issues ever.
He’s probably the git who vandalised my home- there was a panel torn off our cardboard box last night on Skid Row!Was around a mates house the other night and he put a cardboard sheet over my windscreen and it worked a treat, saving at least 5 minutes work and he’s not a wakner!
It takes one to know one....... Are wakners
long way to come from CambridgeHe’s probably the git who vandalised my home- there was a panel torn off our cardboard box last night on Skid Row!
Careful, excessive use of windscreen wipers can lead to crack...Also, windscreen wipers.
YepHave you got a car Allez?
I‘m not one of them, but that’s a bit harsh
in fairness his hands must be freezing from all that scrapingBut l bet they can spell!
There’s poshGot an awning at the side of the house on the drive.
No ice problems.
That could be interpreted in a number of ways JJCareful, excessive use of windscreen wipers can lead to crack...
I can’t afford that - I’ll keep using a sheetI moved to New Zealand. Seems to have fixed the problem.
It will be that cold, they wouldn't see anything.Pretty sure my neighbours appreciate it that I don’t start scraping at 5.30 every morning and just remove my covering but hey ho…
What happens if you need to out before 9.30?Simple solution, a bus pass.
