Signings..

Critchley might want him at QPR. Corberan, now at WBA, also seemed to like him at Olympiacos too. I think we just have to be thankful that we are the only club he can sign for this season.
Correct me if I'm wrong but there appeared to plenty of evidence that Quitch and Bowler fell out at the end of last season so not sure that a move to QPR would be on the cards.

I'm not sure if that was just because we were safe and they were expecting a sale at the end of the season.

If Bowler returns what sort of reception will he get, bearing in mind he wouldn't sign an improved contract & couldn't wait to leave. Will it be like what Critchley would get, or Josh the saviour returns (tail somewhat between legs) I'll swerve sentiment & if it does come off, it should help us in our quest for survival.

Plus the fact that it is not allowed under UEFA rules or EFL rules, which probably counts more than a tiff with a manager.

Rotherham would be mad to sell Barlaser to us. OK he’s got 6 months on his contract and may be looking to cash, but imagine the uproar if we sold Marv or Jerry to a relegation rival. They’re better off letting his contract run out. I’d be amazed if there’s anything in that.

He should be greeted like the ** messiah, we’ve been watching grant ward and Beesley at right wing

Most fans only see the positives of getting Bowler back. I say "most" because there's some who criticised him back then can't help themselves but criticise him now. I'd have thought even they would have wanted him to do well because Bowler could have a big role to play in our aim for survival.

You are probably right, but in similar circumstances if I went back to somewhere I'd left for a higher position & failed I would feel somewhat embarrassed.

Do you genuinely believe that? He was pretty much on the plane to Athens as soon as he signed for Forest so i'd say with pretty much certainty that he knew before hand he would be loaned out to Olympiacos who have the same owners as Forest. Olympiacos then sack their manager shortly after Bowler arrives and the new man seemingly doesn't give him a chance. Not sure why he should feel embarrassed and I'm sure if he did the financial remuneration will make up for it. I see you said back then that you wondered how we'd get on without him? So go on then, how do you think we've done?.

Play every game at Blackpool for the next 4 months........or train with Olympiacos and then spend every game day watching TV

Coming back here is a no brainer.....I doubt he's going to be embarrassed......Just be happy that he's playing and has a chance to play

I presume that's aimed at me 😂 😂 😂 I only speculated on what sort of reception he would get, as it was a valid point. To be hoped his return will be a positive. Anyway I'm not surprised it was you that bit.

No that post wasn't aimed at you at all. My now edited last post reply to you is though.

Hmmm … I’m not so sure about that TBH… I suspect folk just reading what they want into the situation.

I can’t see him getting anything other than a warm welcome tbh. I think most sane fans appreciate the realities of football and that he deserved an opportunity to progress.

I don’t see it as coming back with his tail between his legs either. He’s not really been given much of an opportunity as of yet.

Seems like a great opportunity for both him and us 👍

you mean like beneficial to both parties. Staggering to think that there is criticism of him.

Yes, I think the deal benefits us both at this time and obviously I’m delighted at the prospect of having him back with us.

Let’s face it, most of us would have loved for him to extend his contract and stay, but at the same time it’s perfectly understandable why a) he wanted to go and b) the club had to sell.

I can understand criticism (at the time) in the context of wanting him to improve certain aspects of his game, but that’s very different to not wanting him back or suggesting he won’t improve us right now… That’s just stupidity

of course. But he's young and not the finished article by any stretch of the imagination. What do or did some people want from him? He came to us when we were newly promoted to the Championship so in that respect it was high risk for him too.

I was responding to the suggestion that Quitch might want to sign him in the summer. Give me some credit as the poster that originally pointed out Bowler can only play for 2 clubs in a season.

I spoke to Bowler just before the P'boro game so some of that is first hand speculation.
‘First hand speculation’ 😂 That’s a new one

So what specifically did Bowler say about his relationship with the manager and what did you ‘speculate’..

I think it shows a great attitude that Bowler wants to play football rather than wait for opportunities that may never come in Greece where “ Life’s turned out to be a Beach “. He also has the consolation of coming back to familiar surroundings on wages probably 4 times what they were when he left.

I will welcome his return. As you ask how have we done without him the answer you want is very poor. But as you know it’s not just him we’ve been missing is it.

not really a convincing reply is it? And you don't address the rest of the points in my post either. So as I first said, most fans see the positive in his return whereas those who were critics of him just look to put a negative spin on it.

It was mentioned on here that Williams and Fiorini had returned to parent clubs.
Not seen any confirmation yet.

1953(above) give him some credit.
Did you predict he would sign today.
Lets wait until tomorrow to see if Bowlers signs.

I asked him if he was playing at P'boro. He told me he was fit and available for selection. He didn't make the squad. That along with his failure to be selected in 3 or 4 games prior to that just set me wondering after Quitch's comments that he (Josh) needed a rest.

I think you are reading more into it…
