It’s still not happening is it? The connection between the Manager and the fanbase isn’t ever going to be there. For us to survive this season, we need to give ourselves the best chance we can & we need some unity. On both sides, I don’t ever see it being there.
The board fucked up last summer by appointing him, totally unpopular appointment and then we messed up recruitment wise. We all know this & they knew it, that’s why they went on a charm offensive the past 6 weeks. We brought in new recruitment guys, we brought Bowler back made it massive on social media, which lifted the whole fanbase and Club. Signed another couple in Rogers and the defensive midfielder we are crying out for in Trybull (even though he’s said he’s not fit). The win v Forest lifted it more, but at the first sign of a defeat it’s back again.
I’ve defended MA on here, I do think he’s been stitched up, but he doesn’t help himself with his communication sometimes and I also think that he thinks why should he bother with what he says as an element of our fanbase have never given him a chance. That’s not his fault, the board knew that, simple. The reality is, bar for performances I could count on one hand, I’ve not really seen demonstrations of his ability to be a top coach. I thought at Burnley away we had a guy who could identify an issue in game, make changes and counter act it. Granted he’s not had many options players wise to do this, but yesterday was poor tactically after their subs and his stubbornness with 4-3-3 despite us not having the players to fit it for months hasn’t helped.
Last season, we looked poor when Madine was upfront on his own in a 4-3-3, QPR away, Knobbers away we were horrific. He’s brilliant in the air and has qualities but if our wingers are wide he’s far too isolated as not mobile. We seem to be persisting with this.
I wanted MA to work, but even signing Josh Bowler won’t get rid of the needle between him and 3/4 of our fans.
We are in a proper dogfight right now and need everyone pulling in the same direction. To do this we’re going to have to change the Manager. It’s probably unfair, but he was never the right fit and I think even he knows it.
Whether we will or not I don’t know, but whatever happens on Saturday at 3pm every fucker needs to be 100% behind that team even if we fail behind. Biggest game since the play-off final.
