Sorry to read in the DT today that John had died on 18th January. I was privileged to play alongside him in the U11 Blackpool Schools XI 1958/59. The Telegraph have an obituary detailing his career at Everton and beyond. Many posts on AVFTT have mentioned his early life in Blackpool. What a pity...
