He's just talking bollocks Mike, he's right about him going anywhere though unless there was an end of season position that had to be achieved and if I were Sadler I would have insisted that we make the play offs in his first season back and if he did that but didn't get promoted then next season he would have to get promotion to the Championship.
IMO contracts more often than not benefit the player, manager, and coaching staff because of the representatives involved and because the clubs want the manager so they hold the power and can basically hold the power. Critchley's contract will benefit him more than the club, if there is a so called break clause again that will be on his side.

There will be a seasons goals and I would guess Sadler has not demanded promotion this season but to reach the play offs. We may still do but I don't think so, so where would that leave Critchley?
He will be on bonuses to get us up definitely, he has signed a four year contract so it will be a four year project with possible bonus clauses/incentives in his contract. if we don't go up this season it will be regroup look at the squad who goes who can come in and onwards to next season.

I agree with that but I think there will be a league position that could trigger discussions about his future. It could be 7th, it could be lower but I don't think he will have carte blanche on any position above the relegation places, fact is neither of us know but it's an interesting thought.
IMO I wouldn't of thought so certainly not in the first season maybe if we got relegated there might have been talks but Critchley is being supported in everything he is doing, i can only really comment on my personal experiences with football contracts which are different to managers ones but quite generic

I’m not getting involved mate - contracts have termination clauses as we both know - generally around performance and delivery - I have no idea what they are but unless you are Klopp, Pep or Fergie, I am would guess the club dictate, especially when the hire is out of work.
