Cheltenham Town v Blackpool Official Matchnight Thread 13.02.24

Be nice to see us win an away league match on a Tuesday night. Something we’ve not managed this season. Actually the last time we won away in a league game midweek was against QPR at the start of last season on the 16th August 2022. I’d like that to change please

What like bring on Grimshaw for Joseph.
Hamilton will be back tonight guaranteed
Hamilton will be back tonight guaranteed if we play 3 at the back which I'm sure we will.
The first part of your comment is gibberish to me.

Formation won't change no chance of that. you not just like for like replacements late in the game so i was being sarcastic

If the formation does not change and we get beat or throw away points again, if I were Sadler I'd be pissed off with my manager and want to know why?

I know it probably won't change, I wasn't trying to guess the team Critchley will put out. So I think I'm in agreement with you for what that's worth!

I'm going for:
Grimshaw
Pennington Ekpiteta Husband
Hamilton Norburn Byers Coulson
Dembele Kouassi Joseph

I'd like to see this team starting

O'Donnell
Gabriel Ekpiteta Casey Husband
Morgan Norburn Byers
Dembele Kouassi Joseph

Grimshaw Lyons Coulsen Pennington Virtue Hamilton Lavery

I'd also like to see a better use of subs and tactics, not just like for like replacements late in the game.
Not a bad shout but would still probably keep grimmy in nets

Happy with byers, casey and lyons starting. Only one like others... CJ should come off bench. However let's see what he can do.. although if really poor then critch needs to drag him off not just leave him on.

Anything less than 3pts tonight against 3rd bottom we can forget playoffs...

It's like moving the deck chairs on the prom!
However, the selected players have more than enough to win this game. If we're going to challenge for the play off's, we have to put teams near the bottom of the league to the sword.
3-0 to the Pool.

More changes from Critchley than I would've predicted but the formation isn't changing this season by the look of it.

Kouassi and Joseph couldn’t get the better of the Stevenage back line, who were to be fair a couple of units . They both need to bully Cheltenham tonight and they could get some joy

This week Norburn's turn to be the scapegoat. Absolute trial and error by Critchley trying to find a formula that works. He can make as many changes as he wants in this formation, nothing will make a difference.

Pretty good team as he was never going to change the formation (even though he should).

It would be very Blackpool to have 2 disappointing results and then win away tonight.

He's not the scapegoat, he just hasn't been greatByers was signed to play so someone had to give.

No sense in holding back at this stage - I’d like to see them go at each game like a cup final. WIN WIN WIN

Rather that than just fizzle out…

He’s probably resting Norburn, I’d have played him but he could be in need of a rest for Saturday
