Cheltenham Town v Blackpool Official Matchnight Thread 13.02.24

That's his prerogative, but if you think it will be better with someone else at the helm i think you could be in for a rude awakening
I hope we get the chance to find out.
As far as the footballing side of the club is concerned it would be nigh on impossible to get a worse decision maker than Sadler.

I make it 2 points won from losing positions and 12 points lost from winning positions over the course of the league season (someone can check that). That is....not good.

You’ve changed your tune.
Yes I have, it's clear to me things won't change under him.

Decent cup and home performances do not make up for the absolutely pitiful way we've played away from home and that is 110% down to the manager.

Cambridge, Port Vale, Burton, Wycombe, Cheltenham. All carbon copies of each other.

He hasn't learned a thing and that's the worrying thing, he doesn't deserve another Summer IMO, the long term cost of keeping him on and hoping that he improves things will be more costly to the club than what sacking him off and bringing in a fresh face would be.

It'd be different if we were actually improving as a team, but we aren't, only reason we're 9th is because the squad is genuinely top 6th caliber and are being held back.

And Stevenage

I don’t normally comment as such but I must say that was the worst performance of the season for me. Just didn’t seem interested at all. The commentators were saying all night about critchley just stood there with his arms crossed while the Cheltenham manager was clapping his players and willing them on from the touchline

I remember the game at Peterborough in his first term, which was a complete and utter shit show.

Unfortunately he appears to be carrying out the same exercises now as he was then, strange positions for players, unable or unwilling to change things in a game , extremely late substitutions and so on. It is no doubt that had it not been for the goals provided by Rhodes we would be fighting with Fleetwood to stay in the division.

I'm sorry Mr Critchley, but having given you the benefit of my doubt, my opinion of you has somewhat changed and I now feel you are unfit to manage this team.

No, I'm talking about appointing Grayson, Appleton, McCarthy and Critchley...and several other senior staff, e.g Mansford and Badlan. I assume that's jogged your memory?
You appoint a manager thinking it is going to work out, unfortunately it hasn't we then move on, to be honest i don't have much interest in the back room staff

So you think he appoints managers for them to fail?
He’s not saying that. But it’s just as much about player recruitment isn’t it which has been really poor overall. Aside from Jerry Yates who has come in, been developed and done really well and then sold for good money? That is our model apparently and I can’t think of another? Ignore loans as they are a short term fix and a habit we must break as a club

Now you're being stupid because you've lost the debate, or are you telling me that his managerial appointments have been a success?!
i have lost no debate never had never will, because in my mind i am correct and you think differently that's fine.
Read my point broaden that mind of yours and answer the said question, i said so you thinks he appoints managers to fail how does he know how things are going to pan out., so i would say you have lost the debate

I think i will contact the club and ask them to get him a Crystal Ball for his birthday so he can see into the future.

The mind boggles

Your irked reply confirms that you lost the debate. I think you need to admit to your shortcomings but you can continue your love in with all things Sadler & Critchley if you wish.

As i said never lost a debate and never will, i think you need a footballing brain on your shoulders and not be tunnel visioned, get the cells working in that head of yours it works wonders. i don't quote love Sadler and Critchley i am a realist who realises where the club is at.
Sorry if you don't get my view but don't get upset over it that would upset me.

Upset, hardly over someone with inferior intelligence

Upset, hardly with someone with inferior intelligence, less knowledge of football in general and BFC inparticular. You lost the debate by a landslide. Listen and learn or you'll always be behind the eight ball in any argument or debate. I reign supreme as usual.

Suffice to inform you that I've been attending Bpool games since 1957 and that I played the game at a decent level, including trials at top level, ensures that I'm without doubt your master.

We have all had trails

So you think he appoints managers for them to fail?
Obviously he is not saying that. Most on here would agree that his success rate in picking a good manager is very low. Critchley first time round was ok eventually, but only after he was given an experienced head as his side kick. Dobs also did ok during his six games in charge. The rest, however, were failures!

I respect your opinion so all good

Enjoy living in your lonely fantasy world.

Critchley's body language mirrored that of the tangerine army; motionless and fed up. Difference being we all paid a fair whack to watch that shower of sh*te whilst he sleeps comfortably on his cushty wage knowing that his proficiency in interviews and relationship with Sadler will keep him in the job until a mid table championship club offer him a pay rise as an assistant.

Don't need to live in a fantasy world been there done it.
You've not been too bad a pupil for your master. UTMP.

You have to laugh, i never like being funny with people i like having a banter, but sometimes get frustrated when people don't get that we all have an opinion and then i respond accordingly.
I love that you have supported the club for so long and feel strongly about your club or should i say our club, you are the kind of person oh master (lol) that i could message and go over old times with, every credit to you.
