How many 'high points' this season?

Bar the Pompey away win and the FA Cup victory, is the problem with this season it has lacked high points.
It has just felt like a season of mundanity where our league positions has never been high enough to get excited, there has been no real momentum, bar Pompey we've not really put teams to the sword and even the tin pot cup didn't end well or really get us off our seats!

Bolton at home stands out having attended that one, Portsmouth away was a great watch on the TV too.

50+ years of watching the mighty and this season for the first time I seem to have lost that feeling of joy when going into Bloomfield Rd.
It really has been a season of nothingness, boring boring boring with very very few get out of your seat moments, I also have no connection with any of the team and as for the manager I don't need to express my feelings about this man again 🤬

I’ve said it before but worth repeating again; this has been the most hilarious season I’ve ever seen as a Blackpool supporter.

We’re shit, we’re amazing, no we’re shit, buuut wait we’re actually good, no I’m certain we’re bad. Rinse and repeat.

We’ve been just good enough to keep expectations relatively high throughout the year, but nowhere near consistent enough to live up to them.

We’ve had some of the most boring performances of all time with little sign of improvement under the system (which essentially has worked either really well or really poorly) but good cup runs in the FA Cup and Micky Mouse trophy to balance out.

People aren’t happy with Critchley, but he really hasn’t been THAT bad, but also hasn’t really been amazing either.

The ultimate blue ball season.

2nd half of the Forest reply... dreadful start but loved the way we responded... so close to winning in normal time... just shows what can happen if brave changes are made...🤷🏻‍♂️

Jordan Rhodes. Great to have a natural finisher up top..and we have all been pleasantly surprised at how good his all round game is.

Dembele. Cracking player who is streets ahead of 80% of the squad in terms of looking after a football at his feet.

Pompey 0 Blackpool 4

Forest away

Plenty of high points.

There has been plenty of high points, as highlighted above. I think the contrast between the good and bad has been so stark that it probably makes the high points hard to remember sometimes.

Despite all the poor away performances, we’re still in with a shout so keep believing 🍊👍

Sorry, quick question.

Do I read your posts in an American accent?

I know DC is where you are, but you may well have attended Eton.

Every time we've won.
But the two Bolton wins at home really stand out the penalty BSM win was brilliant.

I went every week for about 20 years where other than the 96 big Sam season we never had a hope of even threatening the Championship. The high point for me was when Steve Macmahon had us playing some decent footy and for one week around January time we were 7th in the table for a week or two. Back then my ambitions began and ended with seeing us on the first page of the ceefax league table.

But looking back I lived for those Saturdays, I even thought Barry Shuttleworth had a cultured left foot and looked a bit like Ole Gunner Solskjaer if you squinted.

So it has been a comedown from the heights of 2021-2022 but putting the season in perspective of campaigns in my lifetime it would rank in the top 10 for sure.

The Bolton home win, the Pompey away win, just being anywhere near the top 6, having a player like Dembele, Jordan Rhodes early form.

I enjoyed Rhodes’ late equaliser vs Oxford.

Only done four away games this year and we went goalless in the other three ☹️

Different story at home, scored some decent goals and enjoyed most of it.

Don’t understand some of the moaning tbh ‘worst season in ‘x’ amount of years’ bloody hell it’s not been that bad we’re 3 points off the play offs 😂 for me been a story of home and away, away I’ve been to about 11 games and we’ve not won a single one of them yet at home we’ve been brilliant for the most part with some thumping wins. Bolton at home springs to mind as does Shrewsbury the 4-0, beating Wigan in last minute was class, good results against Carlisle, Lincoln, Exeter, burton, Bristol rovers. All teams we should be beating sure but still those results have given us a fighting chance and if we can get a result at derby (which has been the pattern of the season tbf) then the next four look oh so winnable so fuck it let’s have a good crack at it

I think the home results paper over the season . It just hasn’t been a ‘get out of your seat’ season. Reminds me of Hendey’s time in charge. I rarely wake up excited for a game and have even missed a few because other things have taken priorities. 4/10 for me.

Hendry got us relegated. There is absolutely no comparison.

We were excellent at home to Charlton we could have won that one 5/6-0 but we also could have lost it at the end. Great performance overall imo

Actually think I’ve enjoyed it sometimes when other teams have lost than when we’ve won!
7 games to change that starting at Derby.
