Boos after a 1-0 win

Don’t blame those for doing so but can’t say I’ve ever heard that before… flat game flat atmosphere but still booo at the final whistle after a win? We’ve got an interesting fan base.

I didn't boo, likely due to apathy. I wanted a win and a good performance today, but only got one of thoes things. Its an odd feeling to be leaving the ground after winning and almost feel as if we have lost. I was really happy for Carey getting that goal, he deserved it after the last few weeks, only bright spot really.

Was nice to see a midfield without Norburn, front 2 and CJ were really woeful though.

We looked scared in front of goal. It was a shot from distance that got us the goal. Why not try it again? We didn't. As for the passing! Surely they must be able to weigh a pass. Dembele's passing was amateurish. And what was Joseph doing when he came on. You're a striker, man! Check out the job description instead of trying to be everywhere.

As an exile, it’s always a tough decision this season as to whether to spend my Sunday afternoon watching TTV ‘Full 90’ replays or old episodes of ‘Midsomer Murders’.

Bizarre - all too often one sees a random selection of the same old faces - albeit usually out of a familiar context. Long periods then follow, where little happens & an unconvincing, rather inept, man leads his visibly frustrated underlings towards a predictably dull ending, only to change his thinking in the last 15 minutes and then takes the credit for an occasional mildly surprising outcome.

Yep - I’ll give all that a miss & go with Midsomer Murders again….😉

Uninspiring performance against a very poor Cambridge side
First half was ok but second half like watching paint dry
Dull football played in a dull system
First half should have seen us home and dry, with Carey having two great chances to score more, a possible penalty shout for Dembele, but the side is utterly devoid of confidence.

The pairing of Kouassi and Beesley was more promising in that we won more up front and the ball stuck, but too often the ball just wouldn't fall and half chances went begging.

That came to the fore in the second half when we struggled to put anything together, and lacked the confidence to shoot when chance to do so came.

The introduction of Joseph and Lavery plus the withdrawal of Dembele utterly removed any attacking threat as neither could even control the ball, never mind pass it. What has happened to Lavery? He's not even closing the defence down and his 'control' is absolutely terrible, the ball bouncing off him in all directions.

That allowed Cambridge to get back into a game that should have been long beyond them. A great save from Grimshaw and a shot against the post could have seen a real meltdown.

However, we won. As Gary Bowyer said on the radio after the game, that's all that counts at this stage of the season.

Beat Fleetwood on Tuesday and see where that gets us.

BOOS AFTER A 1-0 WIN

And what, pray tell, is wrong with partaking of a celebratory alcoholic beverage after we've just managed to secure three points in our rather desparate quest to secure that final play-off place? Have we all now suddenly become fully paid-up members of the temperance society, whose members wouldn't sanction indulging in boos under any circumstances?

Beat Fleetwood and three points behind albeit having played a game more

Utterly pathetic to boo after today's performance. The only time I would consider booing is if the players gave up. They didn't. I saw a team trying hard and got 3 points fir their efforts.

I believe the latest buzzword for fans is "entitled". Seems we have a few of them unfortunately.
I never boo ,but Crichley and SS need to know how we are all feeling .So I can see why this is happening and I don't blame the fans for doing it when paying good money for these performances.

Joseph has been a very expensive mistake.

My highlight was the hapless CJ dummying himself and falling over.
Oh, and man marking himself out of the game which is a feat in itself 🤦‍♂️
Our winning goal wouldn't have happened without CJ. Pinpoint accurate ball to kouassi. Doubt you'll remember that. Good to have some balance.

Pathetic really to boo after a win but from a fanbase which has a section who boo a statement of solidarity against racism what should we expect????

I admire your unwavering optimism Phil, but we were so bad in the second half it was painful. As for the penalty, it wasn't at all but they should have had one in the first half when Pennington lost the ball on the byline in the box and bought the forward down yet we got the free kick, Cizzy and Bowyer were both flabbergasted they didn't get a pen.

Cambridge deserved a point and as long as Critchley is manager we won't get into the Championship. We haven't looked decent for weeks and we won't get into the play offs. I think we will lose or draw on Tuesday, I'm dreading it.

He really is beginning to plumb new depths in terms of his unsurpassed displays of footballing ineptitude.

Can someone PLEASE tell me precisely why, or how, Critchley fails to see this? It's now reaching the stage where, incredibly, C...omplete J...oke can quite comfortably coast through the entire 90 minutes of a game without making so much as a solitary positive contribution. HE IS TAKING UP A PLACE WHICH COULD BE PUT TO MUCH BETTER USE BY SOMEONE POSSESSED OF LEVELS OF SKILL/TALENT C...omplete J...oke could only ever dream about.

FFS, just get rid. Literally, and metaphorically, he is becoming nothing more than a 'standing' 'joke'.

In the unlikely event that we should get to within touching distance of the Holy Grail (i.e. the final play-off place), and, somehow, maybe just by his very presence, C...omplete J...oke manages to deny us the chance of capitalising on the golden opportunity - remember, Critch: on your head be it ...

Chizzy can't tell the difference between Carey and Marvin half the time so how he can be confident on a penalty from miles away is beyond me.

Bowyer is trustworthy though and the replay it looked a stone bonker. It looked it to me and had it been the other way round we would have been aggrieved.

We had a shout second half (Coulson?) that I though looked as penalty-ish as anything else.

I prefer look at it as wanting to be entertained rather than bored stupid
If that makes me entitled I’ll stand for Chair of the Entertainment Committee

Whether you like it or not we controlled the game for long periods today and deserved the win. Every Stat available supports that narrative. Winning by the odd goal was about right. Not exciting but also not sure why you're so negative tbh.

So, for what was almost certainly the first time he has managed to achieve the feat this season, C...omplete J...oke manages to execute a telling pass with pinpoint accuracy, in the build-up play which leads to a goal ...

Well unfurl the flags and put the bunting out! C...omplete J...oke played a slide-rule pass in a passage of play which eventually resulted in the ball finding its way into our opponent's net. Hallelujah!

He's been with us for however many years - and you're 'highlighting' his talents by focussing on a 'telling' pass he made in the build-up play which eventually resulted in a goal. All I can say to that is: "Wow"! Just to add some balance (which I know you consider to be of the utmost importance) to the reportage, might I just point you in the direction of the message posted on this thread by Simonized, at 8.48pm. I think you'll find it's very succinct and there really is nothing more I'd add to it

To conclude, CJ is becoming an increasing liability to the team. Aside from making the occasional 'telling pass', which you have kindly alluded to, he contributes the sum total of zilch to any match in which he makes an appearance, and, if he was to remain at BFC for too much longer, I'm sorry, but his grave limitations are going to cost us dearly. And, before you start with your rather tiresome protests, that's me trying my utmost to engage in what hopefully passes for 'balanced reporting'.
