10—0 Games

10-0 v Lanerossi Vincenza.Mick Hill who was on loan from Ipswich scored 4. Pool tried to sign him on a permanent but Ipswich rejected their offer.

In the early 1950s we, at the GPO, formed a team and joined the local league.
Our first match was near where those hangars used to be, a terrible sloping stone and gravel filled one. We lost 9-0.
Can't remember who the opposition was.

When Man City beat Huddersfield 10-1 at home in 1987, they managed to lose 1-0 in the away game at Huddersfield a couple of months later.

I remember that game, wasn't there but I watched quite a few City games in that period. I tended to concentrate on the entertaining 0-0 and home defeat games.

After that one, the Huddersfield manager was Malcolm MacDonald, he was asked "where do you go from here Malcolm?" We go to Stoke on Tuesday.

Another at the LV game. We went straight to my Grans on Henry Street after the final whistle and vaguely remember "Blackpool score ten" making the headlines on ITV World of Sport".

I was on The Kop as well.

Pretty sure that after scoring our tenth there was still half-an-hour left.

We should've been more ruthless!

Who was the ** manager back then?

I Seem to remember us beating Fort Lauderdale Strikers 10-0 about 1976? with a certain Gordon Banks in nets for the first 5 or 6.. Admittedly he only had one eye at that point..

Or did I dream it?

I was in the South Paddock, & ran on the pitch when Banks was leaving to shake his hand....

In our first game of the season for Blackpool Rangers under 10s, about 1978/79 I think, we got beat 16-0!
A couple more heavy defeats followed but we eventually got a goalless draw and it was like winning the world cup, tears on the pitch and from the sidelines lol!!!
We went on a good run after that, there were actually some decent players in that team, and finished mid table as I recall.
Happy days 🧡

I remember us losing against Birmingham away, think we lost 7-1 and Darren Bradshaw got the goal for the pool. Melvin Capleton was in goal 🤣
