22 games to go

Yep very disappointing season, getting left behind by the front runners, expectations lowered from the season start. We are now looking to scrape into the playoffs. 6th place would be a good finish for us now

Is it really a piss poor league or have Blackpool fans over estimated the strength of their own team?

We have failed to have even a shot on target at a struggling, poor burton. We failed to score at Cambridge , who were down to 10 men for a large part of the game…games like these have meant the optimism has quite understandably wained !!
Rhodes scored at Cambridge and their player went off in the 80th minute, so apart from that, your post is accurate.

Wish we could end the season now. All too stressful watching the players suffer away from home. They are like lost sheep huffing and puffing attempting to muster a meaningful effort.

I keep reading it a piss poor league what exactly does that mean and who is the judge?

Last season the third place team got 96 points and only got promoted by the play offs so was that shite as everyone else was poor?

It's 3rd division football I think fans have lost some perspective what it's like this far down the pyramid.

They had 10 men for 15 mins… think before posting

and so many have written us off already, what’s happened to Blackpool fans? We have always been the eternal optimist and achieved greatness on the back of it, get your tangerine specs back on. All still to play for. UTMP 🍊
Still sticking with the it’ll come good stance Hazi. I won’t knock you for it but as I said prior to the last game, we are not equipped for winning games away consistently enough to bridge the gap between where we are and the playoffs.

Eternal optimists like Wizaard can thumbs up your posts all they like but the reality is you are pissing in the wind

We started against Burton with a bizarre choice of wing backs and 23 games later we go to Burton and still have players that are not really comfortable in those positions, meaning we are defensively weak in wide areas and the middle is softened and stretched by trying to deal with that issue. Why persevere with the system that creates that problem? Feels naive to me, and disappointing.

I can't believe he has stuck with this every game, there is a lack of flexibility. Can we not trust players to play a different system? Is it not worth trying a back four with orthodox full backs and a central pair? Can Critch only change systems if he has a coach in the building who can suggest and coach it?

I'm not saying Critch should go, but there has to be some honest reflection on what is going wrong and why and decisions taken to address the causes. There's been loads of personnel upheaval since Critch walked away 18 months ago. I wasn't in favour of him coming back, but I'm not sure more upheaval is the answer tbh.

Long way to go but slipping too far behind.

People keep saying we have the best or one of the best squads in the league.

If so then were failing to be a long way from 6th nevermind the automatic slots.

We have the tools but aren't using them right.

It’s not over till it’s over. 22 games to go and 66 points available. We’ve given ourselves a mountain to climb but we once won 10 on the spin and have generally come from behind. I know that’s the past but it shows it can be done. Admittedly it’s more hope than expectation at the moment.

This team is incapable of winning two in a row never mind 10. A defeat at Port Vale will end our season and the believers will have to think a bit more out of the box in their defence of Critchley.

Head on the block. I think we are nailed on for a PV win, BUT that won't be followed up with one against LC.

We’ve a manager more bothered with process than results. A 0-0 or tight 1-0 where we’ve ‘controlled’ possession and thus the match are what he’s focused on.

Have you seen our ‘fully fit squad“ for tomorrow ?

It will probably be Jordan Rhodes last appearance for us so a big thank u from me for his endeavours and professionalism — had we signedhim in July wewould be in the top 6.

Thankfully, I’ll be doing my tax return — seems more important and exciting than our away form

I think u meant ‘match facts‘ - I think Nil shots on target and the name Blackpool 0 are my imp facts

There’s a very good book by Jonathan Wilson (who generally does good books) called ‘the Barcelona legacy’ where he talks about the two main schools of tactics that are dominant at the moment, and really fits for what Critch is trying to do. Unfortunately, we’re in league one and not Barcelona so it’s a bit pointless.
