That many the fiver coach price may have been too much.😁

Not bother going to comment on Lincoln fans at Rotherham?
Maybe Morecambe fans at Shrewsbury?
No?
** weird how some have a fixation with other teams🤦‍♂️
Funny Wiz, my kids have never had Morecambe shirts given them at school, I have never had Lincoln fans spitting at us as we walked across the park resulting in my mate (JD) being nicked for reacting.
I don’t like Fleetwood, not because I see them as rivals but because a number of them have chips on their shoulders and infest a small part of North Fylde.
I do understand that this contamination hasn’t and will never spread to your locality

I don't really give a shit about them, I don't consider them rivals and I've got a mate who watches them but you'd have to admit their support is pony.

And I'm not just on about tonight or Sunderland last week.

30 years ago they'd have taken more to a Northern Premier League game at Glossop or wherever. I used to work with a couple of lads who went away and they'd have taken loads to FA Cup games. I think it was Atherstone where they took a few thousand and they stormed the wrong dug out in the 1990 FA Cup 1st Round. And whenever they played Barrow every nutter and his dog would turn up. They even took loads to a rugby game at Twickenham that Fleetwood Rugby Union club got too in about 1993.

Where the fuck have they all gone too? Watching Liverpool on Sky, that's where.

Your absolutely right about 30 years ago. I saw them play Halesowen Town in the FA Vase about 38 years ago, and they took quite a few thousands to the final at Wembley. Now they have just the diehards watching them still, and maybe next year if they are in League 2, it might be less than a thousand

For a team that most say they don't have any interest in they don't half generate a lot of traffic on here. There's a thread like this nearly every week.

My reasons for posting this tonight Was... Banter
few years back i was happy for cods & afc when they was doing well
ie= promotions and wembley appearances
But after seeing videos of the little cherubs
Smashing away grounds and attacking visiting supporters ( OAP)
Jamie pillock pilley I couldin't give one iota if they go down
over and out

I am not surprised of our interest in our neighbours Fleetwood.
They certainly are rivals.

They sent us down during NAPM .
Fleetwood fans gloating and mocking us.
Displaying “ Oyston In “ banner.

There was no doubt some jealousy amongst our fans which is only natural.
Fleetwood challenging for Play Offs and Pool Foot farm. They seemed a well run club whilst we were fighting for our club.

I know 4 persons who converted to watching Fleetwood whilst we were in troubled times.
They would not accept my argument that the bubble would burst one day for them.
3 haven’t returned and I am happy to see them unhappy amongst the dwindling 2000 home fans.
I still think they will stay up this season but it will be a stay of execution.

So give your heads a wobble if you say you have no interest or wish the Cods well.

I've given my head a wobble and can tell you I still don't give two hoots about them down the road.

You may as well be talking about Shrewsbury for what it's worth.
Maybe a comment made earlier in the thread holds true and that you have to be a certain age.

So they had Oyston in banners, whoop de do. So they sent us down, gasp!!
Have no other clubs done this in the past?
They are an absolute irrelevance to me.
Do I get excited when we beat them?
Yes in the same way I was excited and happy when we beat Swansea last Saturday and I'd be as pissed off with a defeat against them as I was with Bournemouth and Huddersfield's victories.

They are not rivals in the same manner as Burnley, Bolton, Preston and even Blackburn and never will be.

In ten years time when Blackpool are still playing those teams mentioned I'd be very surprised if Fleetwood are still in the football league.

Yet you choose to post on a thread about the Cods.🤷

Plenty of others do also they can't help themselves, I can't stand them and hope they get relegated same as the Nobbers and if there a thread about them so be it as to not rivals absolute nonsense try telling that to the youth and old bill.

I chose to post on the thread to highlight how little they mean.
For God's sake Fleetwood town a rival to Blackpool?
Suppose it shows the mentality of today's youth🤷

As to Burnley being rivals maybe for me and you of a certain age but the atmosphere and attendance was crap at the pre season friendly play the Cods and it would have been a big gate.

Important to point out their humiliating followings as it serves as a reminder that they're a non-league club at heart that had a few good seasons. Would love to see them fall down the leagues again

Whatever your opinion on Fleetwood, their away followings are shocking for a league one club.

As said only last week on another thread Fleetwood is the second smallest town in the EFL regards population.

A few clearly need to understand what that exactly means when it comes to crowds.
So it can't sustain a club - close it down and come follow the Pool - you know it makes sense

It can sustain a football club, but maybe not a League One club. As said, they have been punching above their weight. And maybe the reality is, or will be eventually, to settle as a League Two or National League side?

Should Fylde find themselves in the Football League in the years to come then they will face the same issues.
