3 match ban for Madine

I think if a card is given there's no retro action as the ref has obviously seen the incident and punished it. Whereas the ref must havd said he didn't see Madine's stamp.
There were quite a lot of things he didn't see, and a fair few he imagined as well.

Pity they don’t suspend the ref for not playing advantage when Lavery would have been through on goal in the first.🧐
To be fair, there were two small children in row S, so I think that the ref was correct on this occasion

What have the FA got against us? Absolute joke McTominay goes over the top every game and never once received retrospective action

It's Madine's fault. Absolutely nothing to do with going against us.

It's was a blatant, cowardly stamp that would have got a red if the ref had see it. Its that simple
No tv no ban it’s bullshit, the ref missed it should be end of story, what next analysis on every single game , jesus there won’t be any players left 🙁

not seen the incident but it was discussed on here that night so if he did it then he has to accept the punishment. Whereas I think Madine is ok and he does have attributes it does now give us an opportunity to try and play a system where balls into feet or into the channels are likely to be more productive as with Beesley being injured there is no direct replacement for him.

As a Gaz fan, please could you tell me why it is that some people really rate him?
I think we see why when he isn't playing Ginge. Particularly with our currently weaker than of late defence. But also in the way he can hold up and play people in like Josh the other day. He never really stands out but he's a key player alright. The fact that two good coaches have shown faith on his contribution also helps confirm that.

What I find frankly *astonishing* is that people seem to think that the reason we weren't very good in the last game wasn't because we had all of our 3 central creators out but because Madine was playing or that Appleton *chose* to play this style as a preference

It's literally impossible to set up a technical 433 with Dougall and Connolly alone available.

Playing 442 with little lads is madness.

But yeah, everything is Gaz's fault and now the FA are on to him too.

Why do so many people not rate Madine? Is it cos he’s slow? Target men have to bring a ball down that’s been pinged at them from 60 yard away while someone pulls their shirt and climbs all over them. It’s not the easiest job to do and I think he does it well tbh.
But he doesn't control the ball though does he? He either heads it to one of their players or it bounces off him. And yes, he is slow...

Right. Those who want to see how we do without him are going to get their chance.
Looking forward to it. Down to the midfield to up their game and for the ball to be played in to feet or neat through balls to the forwards making clever runs.
Obviously all the goals and assists from Madine will be very hard to replace.

Inconsistent decisions in football do my head in... but it’s always been the way.... we just get to analyse them more... and still inconsistent 😡. For those critical of Gary Madine generally... have another look at Josh bowlers goal against Bristol City...
How often does he do that. If he notched 10 assists a season you would have a point. Last season he didn't contribute a single assist!!!
Never known such an unproductive forward to have so many fan boys!!

... seems according to you, MA and NC are as blind as me when it comes to the contributions of GM.

Don’t hate him just that he is now stealing a living at this level. Not his fault if he keeps getting picked. At least the next 3 matches will open up other options.

When Appleton had more to choose from he didn't pick him, as players become available The Goal Machine will play less and less this season. He won't be with us next season.

cheers, hadn't seen it. Intentional? Deliberate? I'd say he was focused on his feet being in the right place to come away with the ball but you can't get away with doing that and so yep, it's right he gets a ban.

Having watched it back I am undecided as to whether it was deliberate or just clumsy.

I'm personally struggling to see intent in that clip, and if that's worthy of a retrospective three match ban the elbow into Madine's face on about 35mins deserves the same.
We do seem to be getting the really shitty end of the stick at the moment. Are the EFL and fa a bit sour about the Oystons being booted out, because we do know that both organisations are fond of a corrupt / criminal / dodgy owner or two.

Did it show on the TV? From where I was stood it was clear Archer definitely left a foot in on Grimshaw.

Yes. There was footage from behind the opposite goal. It clearly showed Archer bearing down and extending his leg in Grimmy's direction. It was only shown once and wasn't discussed, Sky preferring to repeatedly show the inconclusive footage from the half-way line.

So, you have never seen one of our players on the end of a potentially leg breaking tackle, or being deliberately stood on? Right, you either haven’t been watching long or you are only seeing what you want to see.
I’ve been watching since 1958,i was referring more to the fact all we see on here at the moment is “it’s the refs fault”,”it ‘s the linesman s fault” ,we should have won that or various other things,it’s football and shit happens, and that stamp by Madine was a nasty one.To cap it all now it’s the efl s fault for having a vendetta against us.

Looks like Gary is just gently navigating over the lad for me 😬

But it's funny how we seem to be getting done on every decision atm.

Plenty of time to choose where to plant his foot. If it was the player's head, his studs would've found the grass (I hope). Accept it's more of a tread than a stamp though.

I take all that on board and agree but he's a striker who doesn't score goals.
I'm looking forward to Beesley coming back. He's a lot more mobile and looked a lot sharper last season, what little we saw of him.

Looks like a soft one to me, yes he trod on him but he seems more preoccupied with the ball rather than showing any intent.

It’s borderline anyway which makes retrospective action for violent conduct/serious foul play look very harsh.

We’re not getting the rub of the green at the minute.

maybe Simon Sadler needs to be a bit more dubious, start a proper pyramid scheme which is directly targeting Pool fans, or disappear a couple of people, or just stop running blackpool Fc as a football club and try it as a fourth rate property business. that kind of stuff seems to go down well at the FA et al

This is getting beyond a joke. Why don’t they just make their prejudice clear and deduct us 20 points, they can then find another whipping boy for the rest of the season.
And what about the high, off the pitch Rugby L “tackle” on Bowler - how was that just a yellow !!
Absolute joke the E F L - fantasy land officiates once again

Livid

So they can ban a player retrospectivly for 3 matches after viewing the incident after the game has finished but can't do anything after reviewing goals which clearly should (or should not) have been allowed . Both types of incidents can affect clubs in a big way. But then again where would you draw the line ?

I wouldn’t have any problem with this ban if the punishment was seen to be applied consistently. including the so-called bigger teams.
