Birmingham - sounded a dead strong word to me and I always looked out for their result

Third Lanark - similarly, sounded rock-hard and was gutted when they bit the dust in the mid-60s

Hungary - just because they contained my name

BUT ALWAYS ONE LOVE, ONE 🧡

Derby County - I loved Cloughie.
Brazil - The Beautiful Game, South American style - Jairzinho, Rivelino, Tostao, Pele, Gerson, Clodoaldo, Carlos Alberto.
Holland - A European Beautiful Game - Neeskens, Rensenbrink, Cruff, Johnny Rep.

Man City FA cup winners 1969
Celtic, Euro Cup Winners 1967
Italy 1970 because Brazil beat us

Shouldn't the last one have been the Cook Islands?

stoke - Gordon Banks
rangers - just coz they were successful
holland - colour of their shirts (similar(ish) to ours)

Since when have Brazil played in the Sweaties League?

Me?

Blackpool, there can only be one English team for me.
Scottish teams? No thanks, there are better pub sides south of the border thanks.
Holland, so similar to our tangerine shirts gave me a soft spot for them, plus the 74/78 World Cup teams were superb.

As a little kid I liked Bristol Rovers, cos I liked the kit!
😳

Never bothered with Scottish football, until the Army led me on to Rangers.

My ‘second’ international team has always been Italy, as one of my nans was Italian.

Holland yes, watched the last 20 mins of the Netherlands game last night with 7 or 8 Dutch folk.

I told them same as you and two of the guys said they also follow how we're getting on!🧡

Brazil, hardly Scottish Voyeur, but a fantastic team you refer to - I assume that you failed O-level Geography!😁

You mean like Layton Institute RB, when Quilligans pipped them to the Sunday Prem title about 16 years' back?!😜

Never been arsed about any other club than us, but I did like Cloughie, so it would be Derby if anyone.

Celtic, purely because my grandad was from the Gorbals area of Glasgow, and he was the only family member who watched /listened to football with me (from a non footballing family) in the 60's

Holland, the 1974 team were excellent to watch, especially Cruyff.

Workington Reds - Hometown club.
Gretna FC - Had a dream and made it a reality , and they are only 5 miles up the road from me.
England - who else ?

* Edit to say , Gretna wasn’t when I was a youngster, D’oh 🤪

When I watched Celtic win the European Cup in 1967, I had their/my subbuteo team lined-up on the carpet in front of the telly for good luck.

Mi Dad said that's why they won!🙂

I seem to remember Sheff Weds and Arsenal being in both cup finals in the early 90's and Wednesday losing both. Think I felt sorry for them and generally hoped they'd do well after that. Had a rangers shirt though can't say I ever paid much attention to them, enjoyed that run Cameroon had in the 1990 world cup, used to do Roger Milla's corner flag celebration when I scored a goal at school.

I used to think that Sheffield Wednesday was a Bank Holiday😜big GROAN

Remember taking a keen interest in QPR during the 1975/6 season. Just a bit of flirtation away from a mediocre season for Pool in division 2 & a dislike for Liverpool winning everything (that would only increase). Dave Thomas on the wing, Stan Bowles jinking about with that left foot & Gerry Francis running the midfield. Just lost out on the title in the end.
I'm also in on the Dutch total football of '74. Got me over England not being there.

Not English either. Neither are Holland. But they are both international.

Shit question obviously! 🤠

If you asked for one of each I might have done that. Except I've never been interested in a Scottish side...

The Blue Brazil. Cowdenbeath.

Blackpool
Aberdeen (I thought for such a small club they were great)
Brazil; Zico, Socrates et. al. What a collection of players at a time when the commercial was crackly and the pictures hazy, they were scintillating in Spain '82 (I was 10!)

First game I can remember watching all through was the Sunderland Leeds final. Jim Montgomery's save plus Porterfield 1-0 ensured I was a Sunderland fan for a few days.

Not fully appreciating why England weren't involved in the first two World Cups, I got a soft spot for Holland, which was obviously sufficient enough jinx to make sure they lost both finals.

My dad being Scottish I rooted for Celtic. They were the big team in the 60s and I didn't know a thing about sectarianism. I missed the 1967 final , being a a couple of months before my interest in football really exploded. After that I got lots of football annuals for Christmas and I went for the teams with really cool kits: Hibernian, Sheff Wednesday (blue with white sleeves) and Scotland - deep navy blue. My only real club was Blackpool, simply because I was from Blackpool - it was a given.

Leeds, loved Bremner Gray Lorimer etc
St Mirren, love their nickname, love Paisley
Holland, kit colour, Cruyff, Rep
👍👍👍⚽⚽⚽

Not on the ops list but i always looked out for Lazio, from the days when TV only had 4 channels and Football Italia was on every sunday afternoon 😅

So you're known as Mr. Hung? 😳

Man Utd (Bestie of course) Brazil (well they were pretty good, Pele etc) I didn't realise the Scots played football, when I was a youngster & nothings really changed on that one.
