Haven't scored in 6 hours of football. Haven't looked like scoring either.
Critchley was brought in to deliver an attacking and exciting brand of football. I don't think ive ever watched a game and felt so sure we weren't going to score as I have today.
I said last week that Grayson had the team playing a better brand of football than we are currently playing and today just confirmed it.
A few lucky wins earlier on in the season has just papered over the cracks.
Most of the players lack that quality we need at this level. I've never seen a team misplace as many passes as we do. Decision making is terrible every time we try and get the ball forward. The only positive is that we are still okay-ish defensively.

The recent run of results has gone from a 'bad patch' to really concerning and it won't be long before questions will need to be asked about the managers job.
This 4.5 year deal may come back to bite us.

Wind up knobhead.
Pop off and support the cods.

I can guarantee many of these players will be with us next season. These include, Maxwell, Yates, Mitchell, James, Connolly, Sterling, Madine, and Critchley

Fuck me, it's a poor run of form for a month and you want to immediately sack the fella that's JUST got us promoted?

Thank fuck you're not in charge.
It's not a poor run of form. We were even worse at the start of the season. It's more likely that the little run we had when we were picking up points was just a good run on form.

Lots of teams go through these times. The older you get, the more of them you see. And, when it’s your team……….

Critchley's main striker signing ended the first season with the most goals for a Blackpool player in a season for 26 years and was voted the PFA fans player of the season.

Grayson's main striker signing was Nuttall.

Do you mind if we don't go back to Grayson please. We're going through a bad run, yes it's concerning, but we'll come out of it.

Why do I suspect the people defending Critchley today are those that never put themselves out travelling to away games. If you’d wasted £100 and a full day travelling to watch that you’d be less sympathetic. There’s a way to lose no one thinks we have a divine right to win every game but I’d like to think we pick our best players and at least bust a gut to achieve a favourable result.

Oh, ok.
STOP EVERYONE.........
you're only aloud an opinion if youve actually been to the game.
👍🏻

And...........continue!!

Spot on op 👍🏻 All the replies have never been to an away game for years , I’m currently stood at sheffield station looking at at departure board showing cancelled cancelled cancelled thinking after already spending thousands this season , is it worth it? Cos I have seen anything as bad as today and quite frankly we are shit🙁

I rarely go to away games, as to dedicate a whole day up for football doesn't appeal, my choice. If you choose to have a day on the lash & watch the football, that's fine & your choice.

OMG has the OP been on the juice already?
Critch is a young manager, on a 4.5 years contract, who has just won NW Manager of the year & he wants him sacking 😫
There are lots of things to fix and SS will be telling Critch to get them fixed, and asking what he needs to achieve success.
We clearly need a player clearout and to spend significant dosh on Championship quality players. SS isn't going to throw his family jewels at the club, so perhaps additional investment on the board would be a way forward. Uncle Val where are you 😍

I went today along with most others this season and I'm defending Critchley....Speak for yourself mate, not everybody thinks like you...

I was there 😉

It's not that long ago people were saying that the best signing we could do is tying Critchley down to a long term deal.

I was thinking about knocking away games on the head when I was sat in traffic for 1hr40 minutes after the game yesterday due to three separate accidents. Then I woke up and realised how much I love this club. So no we carry on regardless. UTMP🍊

The O/P posting history is abysmal
He spent all last season wanting the manager sacked.

I’m not even convinced that he’s not a Nobber.
I apologize for wanting to be entertained whilst watching my team play.
There is nothing entertaining about the way we play, even when we are picking up points.

Then why didn’t you come on the forum and say that afte4 about 10 minutes in?
It is all so easy to say these things after the event
What are you even on about?

The poster in question said they'd never been so sure that we wouldn't score compared to any game they'd watched. My point was that they'd obviously not seen many of our games over the years... or they have a very short memory

Ha! What a load of bollocks its called a poor run every team has them, its exactly now when you need the fans to rally behind the team, fair weather fans can f off, i've sat on grass banks at Rochdale in the pissing rain supporting my team and will do every time, slagging the man who got us up in his first full season and is doing a fine job in our first season back at this level and will keep us in this division is the worst crap ive heard in many a year, debate is great and we can all chip in, but f me the OP here is hysterical.

He’s right on one p, when Critch was appointed, we expected pressing, entertaining, attacking, full throttle football, but it hasn’t happened I’m sure he’ll be sat down with his players and support team discussing how he can turn things around.

The good res we had were built around do or die defending, and some good luck, both seem to have deserted us.

just pick the best team Neil, and let them play.

I was there and travelled from the Isle of Man, so much more than £100 and one day’s travel. Yes, gutted at the overall quality of performance and lack of any real incisive threat in the final third. However, I’m not about to start calling for Critch’s head after the fine run we had fairly recently showed the potential of the team. It is a poor run and next week’s match even more important therefore, but I’m sure I remember most of us hoped for survival this season, even if we all then got a bit giddy at our position on the edge of the playoffs. I’m confident we will survive and if we can regain the recent form that will be even more assured.

I think some of what you say has a ring of truth to it. Critch has got our team playing good football quite often. It is also the case, however, that some of the players seem to be struggling at this level. You are also ight in saying that the bad patch has become more of a significant concern. That said, I am not calling for the manager's head.

We were also lucky in a few of those games on the good run, our bar, some great saves and luck saved the day, and luck doesn’t go on forever. ma it covered up the cracks that were already there.

let’s hope he can pull it round for all our sakes, because if thi poor run continues until after Christmas, we could be staring at a relegation place.

And unlucky in certain other games that we drew/lost…

You can see from the distribution of points across the league, that pretty much any team can beat any other team on their day… So most games are being settled by fairly narrow margins..

We will turn things around…

The source of any fans frustration is the Championship (indeed other EFL divisions) with its 46 game length, plus cups etc that make for a long season that dispenses with quality.

It becomes a long haul of mediocrity interspersed with an occasional run of form, maybe a little cup run but essentially its a war of attrition that takes us through to the summer. The play offs give it a little bit of artificial sparkle at the end but essentially its an overloaded and over marketed product.

Some years ago the EFL (who some seem on here direct venom at on a daily basis) came up with a bright and imaginative idea to reduce the number of matches, where they would introduce a new division and -as I recall- regionalise the bottom divisions.
A Championship with 20 teams would make for better quality, negate the need to have midweek fixtures at the expense of international breaks
and make it more affordable for regular fans.

Got shot down in flames of course by those willing bedpartners at the EPL and the FSA (strangely enough) , but essentially a 46 game programme benefits the clubs with bigger resources.

Jesus Christ one win against the worst team (by a mile) in this division and the happy clappers are out in full force.
It was a much needed 3 points today and I am glad we got over the line, but if the game had ended 1-1 then there really wouldn't have been much to moan about. Critchley got his subs spot on today, but that's the first time all season.

They're not the worst team (by a mile) in the division because Barnsley have 5 less points than them. Obviously our manager must have guided us to 12th in the league by sheer luck.
