5 things we need to do very, very quickly.

1.We need a new permanent manager identified, interviewed and a contract signed by 9 May.
2. We need that man to be watching and assessing us now. (Personally I'd like someone new and fresh to management with no baggage)
3. We need the retained list sorted.
4. We need a list of the players we want bringing in given to whoever is Badlads replacement and those deals need to be signed sealed and delivered before pre-season training starts.
5. Simon needs to re-issue his vision and then appoint the right person to deliver it be that Ben Mansford or someone else. I'm not actually certain that Simon being a fan actually helps as strange as that comment may sound. He needs to be a bit more detached from football decisions and stick to financial ones.

Great post @Insider bar no mention of Mansford and until he goes I can’t see any of the above being achieved.

Great points.

It’s all about next season now and the new Manager needs input into what we have and can let go.

We fucked last summer up, need to be prepared for this one.

Points 1 and 2 should already have been done. The new guy would just sit in the stands with no input (well actually he would because MM would have been relieved) just taking stock, and planning for next season. You'd assume he wouldn't be an idiot so would prepare for L1.

To me it's plain idiotic not to have done this already.

Totally agree with points 1-4 of the o/p.

Regarding point 5, whilst there’s no disputing Mr Sadler is a highly successful man in the banking sector, I’d suggest that certain financial decisions, assumedly his - or at least sanctioned by him @ BFC have been less so, such as season/matchday ticket pricing, the membership scheme & allocation of the whole of the East to away fans on several occasions.

Whilst I appreciate bills have to be paid, there’s a strong case to suggest that the losses incurred by our now surely inevitable relegation will significantly outweigh any short-term benefits achieved via the above policies.

We need Maxwell, Connolly and Husband to fuck off and never play for the club again
Connolly being the new Southern?
Southern had the advantage of skilful players, around him GTF, Adam, Vaughan, but he was still vital
Connolly is, a utility player who can cover multiple positions, maybe not best on technical ability but does not hide and considering some of the awful challenges on him has hardly missed a game.
In L1 he will be fine in any of 3 positions, in Championship best covering injuries or off the bench.

Point 2 is key for me. In an ideal world, I would like to see the new manager taking a few training sessions. There aren plenty of posters staging off virtually every player we have, but many of these players have performed really well before, the managers and systems they are being forced into has broken them. Proper medical assessment of why some many hamstring problems as well, we cannot have another season like this for injuries at any level

Edited to add: What bothers me is if a clear out is done without consideration from a different pair of eyes, we will lose some gems whose underperformance should not be judged by the very same people who have caused it.

One thing is for sure - we are pool fans through thick and think , and will be there supporting them . Teams get relegated every year , this is our year - and is up there with the worst seasons I can remember .
However , as sure as the lows are low , the highs are high - and we will be there again in the future . 🍊
