5 years ago today

The country voted to leave the EU. 🥳🙏

5 years on I’ve not gone hungry once or indeed failed to buy anything I wanted like the scaremongers out there told us. 🇬🇧 👍
Try buying plaster or construction materials generally. Prices gone through the roof when available.

Apparently 5.6 EU citizens have applied for settled status in UK. Officials thought there were only 4 million total EU citizens here so have been taken by surprise. Anyway obviously the 5.6 million applicants prefer life in the UK to living in the poxy EU so stick that up your Remoaning posteriors.🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧

Willing and very able the do the work we can't be arsed to do.

Great control of borders. 5.6 million here plus who knows how many undeclared? Thought it was about keeping them out.

Would've been nice to be able to sign players like Sylvestre and Grandin now that we are back in the championship but won't be possible now.
Definitely going to push up the cost and wages of championship standard players with a British passport once the covid situation has been dealt with.

And what benefits have you found in your life? There must be loads seeing as it's cost the country at least £100 billion.

Neither were key players, they both offered glimpses of their talent but not in the same league as GTF

Sylvestre should have played many more games for us, but irrelevant now as uncapped European players are not available to us anymore, reinforcing my point that players like GTF will be able to command more money as eligible footballers are now a precious commodity in the UK.

Jaffa doesn't half talk some bull shit.

Timber is going up in price weekly as stocks are so low due to lack of stock coming in from Europe. We have a shortage of cement, building materials, plants, 50% reduction in the number of plants in the country because of Brexit (Fact - read the industry growers reports) add to that a 50% reduction in Eastern European workers who have worked in the horticultural world here for decades, non eback home because of Brexit (Fact). These are the areas I work in. I am having to increase my prices by 20% just because of the rise in costs and that's if I can actually get the stuff. My clients have to bare the brunt of this and it is only going to increase.

I am sure there are many other businesses I am not an expert in are suffering the same, I await the who can enlighten us.

But then as long as we keep out these dirty foreigners and live the xenophobic red neck life then crack on, I'm sure you're all having a ball.

Anyone notice the veg in shops, manky within a couple of days. Poor farmers have very little to sell too
Very sad and shit Sunday roasts

Some real whingeing old gits on here.

Be happy be proud. 🇬🇧
Be happy and proud at what? A lot of us have lost tangible benefits from being in the EU and gained nothing.
I am generally happy but a narrow minded, xenophobic, backward looking vote by 52% of the people who could be bothered to vote isn't a reason for it.

I don’t think so.

People said on here there would be certain food shortages in supermarkets within 12 months of leaving.

You seen any? cos I haven’t, some real thicko’s about talking shite as usual. 😂 🇬🇧
So we voted to prove that there wouldn't be food shortages!
What other fantastic benefits did we vote for to make everyday life better for normal people in the UK? I must be missing them and I would like to take advantage, please enlighten me.

As long as Jaffa is OK and hasn't suffered any food shortages then we can all view Brexit as a massive success.
Glad that we have cleared that one up.

I’am just pointing out one issue what people like you and others posted on here the day we actually left Europe.
Simply hasn’t happed has it?

Cat your obviously being paid too much being a teacher, get yourself to Tesco, Morrison’s, Sainsburys, Asda, Aldi, Lidl, all have plenty of food and no shortages. 👍

It has happened in Northern Ireland.

The other glaring point is that (as others have pointed out) is that your measure of Brexit success is 'no food shortages'. To say that that represents a low bar is quite an understatement.

It has happened in Northern Ireland.

We’ve had this debate before about N Ireland a few months ago and my cousin in Larne said it’s a load of bollocks it wasn’t the normal an odd shop thats all.
Scaremongering was the word he used by the remoaners brigade.
Go into any supermarket the last hour of business and many stocks are always running low but most are stocked up overnight by the night shift.
Shame Cat didn’t take his picture at 8am/9am to give a true account.

So we should believe your cousin in Larne rather than the international media?

What does your cousin (or you for that matter) think about the prospect of having to pay roaming charges every time you visit Europe?
I Don’t now I’ve never asked him the topic I’am talking about was food shortages nothing else here.

As for me I remember going to Turkey a good few years ago and on going through passport control you had to put a tenner in your passport just to get in (yes granted it was Turkish lira back then)
After the last 12 months we’ve had my time of visiting Europe has all but ended I’ve recently bought a holiday home in the lakes so the roaming charges won’t apply to me so I’ve no thoughts on it really.
As the saying goes it is what it is.
Edit
As for your link it’s forecasting it’s not actually happened has it? It’s like the forecast people said on here supermarkets would be short of food but that was 12 months ago.
Half this board said Madine wouldn’t be signing a new contract but was already making plans to move.
It’s called bollocks as I keep saying.
Anyway off out with the Dog now. 👋
