A different match day!

I had swapped my weekend on call so I can go today as I’m not going to Millwall

Wish I hadn’t bothered now
 
Bringing forward the hoovering and other cleaning from tomorrow….it ‘s a joint exercise in this household and always has been.😉😉.
Had the sun been out then maybe not so I might as well.Did the grocery shopping ,my job too😁),yesterday so no reason to go out other than to get the saturday paper.

Hoovering completed.Getting the paper was a bit more tricky as there has apparently been delivery issues around where I live.Finally got what I was after but not from my usual sources after trying quite a few places.The newsagent selling it wasn’t too happy as they had delivered the papers but in some cases eg the Telegraph not the additional colour supplements including I would imagine tributes to the Queen which many might be after so he said that wasn’t going to help sell them especially all the Telegraphs which is now £3.50 ( WOW) on a Saturday.
Got my Saturday Mail eventually and it’s TV supplement which why I buy it in the first as the actual newspaper itself isn’t that great ( the football section barely recognises life out side of the Premiership but then don’t they all)and usually pages and pages of ads for holidays,elasticised pants( useful mind you at our age),funeral plans( already got ours),ridiculous cheap furniture ( no thanks),etc.

Will feel strange not waiting for the footie results but less nervous😀At least I didn’t have to find my way through the chaos caused by them closing the the M6 between J32 and J33 for bridge work diverting everyone as a result.That pleasure 😡😡comes next home game.

And don't forget everyone there's an international break just around the corner!!!
I can see Fiorini, Stewart and Beesley all being fit by the time we play again!!
 
Next weekends game will definitely be off especially being in London, so will Wednesdays game at Rotherham be off? If it’s not, then why call today’s game off? 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
 
Tidying the spare bedroom out the mrs nagging me to death and Im thinking should be in the Armfield having a few pints by now .

we have his and hers….😉…oh and the Emirates A380 flight to Dubai has just passed more or less over the top of our house.Amazing sight as it very very rarely fly’s out this way but a lot do believe me.Would have missed it had I been at BR😳7C6D3FEA-56EA-4DCA-9381-9B1E6181BE18.jpeg

Why call off any football today? All other sport is on. So it's only disrespectful if you play football, but not rugby? Should've been all off or none. I can understand next weekend with extra policing required.

Another three have flown close by but gone quiet now.Whilst even after living in this house for coming up to 25 years I still get a buzz out of them almost flying over our roof and Some times they really do.The buzz however is not necessarily there at 11 pm or 6 am 😉Fortunately they usually tend to take off west bound so we don’t get them every day.We are not affected by the landings though we can hear them and see them from a distance if they are arriving from the Stockport approach.
Difficult to say at what height they are but they feel a lot closer than the photos might suggest and the A380 because it is so much bigger and heavier looks really low in the sky which makes it even more amazing to see and it seems to be much slower though it probably isn’t.
Anyway hope you find a good shed but remember it is a good idea to paint it sooner rather than later with a good wood preservative like Cuprinol which ours have. We need to do these again early next year.

oh and no.7 a bigger plane than the previous 6 has just gone by….these flights are usually those heading due South for Spain and Portugal including the the likes of the Canaries so you get different sizes and airlines.1F8007E4-F5FD-4F00-86CE-2BAA032E4F3F.jpeg

I sometimes do but the curiosity is that when you first hear them you are never sure if they are going to fly straight on towards Stockport town centre or curve South towards us.
if I look at the departures on line afrerwards I can usually work out which is which and where they are going.Pre pandemic I would often look up and think I’d love to be on board but rift now I still have no desire to fly or more significantly spend time trying to get through check in etc.
The one that has flown in our direction which really has confused me is the A380 ( Emirates) around 3pm to Dubai which has always gone In the direction of Stockport when take offs are in our direction and yet twice in the last 4 weeks it has come our way.Even theSIA Singapore flight has come this way once recently which is really strange too but the bigger the plane the more fascinated I am😁.I am a kid at heart with simple pleasures obviously as well as supporting BFC..oh hang on maybe that true to that too😉

Oh and here comes another over us….no markings on the tail fin just plain white…so who knows who that is.
 
Here in Kent, we are on the main flight path out of Heathrow to the middle and far east. Great fun sitting in the garden watching the big birds flying over.

How high up are they?Agree it is fun but not sure 7/days a week mind you.
we are only about 3 miles maybe 4 miles from the runway ends so they could be lower here but most of ours are not the really big ones so they climb faster.having said that the number coming our way today seems much higher than usual….as another one comes right now🤔

16,000 ft if from Gatwick, more from Heathrow
 
Watched the TV this morning from 09.45 till 12.30. Amazing pageantry, makes you proud to be British. A quick shopping trip to Bradford for new slippers and other essentials. Lunch at a great little restaurant which serves mid European food and decent lager. A couple of pints in the Record Cafe then home. Now slept it off. All in all a decent afternoon.
 
Went to Lancaster and bought a few vinyl records off the market stalls. Even Walking football was cancelled this morning in Garstang as a mark of respect. A different Saturday to the one I had planned, but still enjoyable.
 
The Masked Dancer and an Indian Orchard take away now 🤗

Can‘t beat some spicy food and a bit of dumbing down with Peter Crouch on a Saturday night 😊
