Accrington Stanley /Andy Holt

Sounds like they've decided to put the price up 5 quid today because it's Wrexham. Andy Holt puts it down to increased police costs etc. Wrexham have responded by promising to reduce the return game at the racecourse by 5 quid for Accy fans ...obviously making a point.
I find it quite funny that in relation to the two clubs and their back stories it's Wrexham that come out of this on the right side morally.
Surely you shouldn’t be charged extra because you bring a big away support or because you have Hollywood owners? It's not Ryan Reynolds that has to pay this extra but hard working fans.
Not a good look for Andy Holt or Accrington.
Thoughts?

He's trying to sell.
It's an extra fiver for one match only and because it's Wreham. He's trying to defend it on X but in a subdued way because he's being seen for what he is. This is totally against what Accrington are supposed to represent isn't it at lower league level? Reminds me of something a former chairman of ours would do back in the day.

Should make an interesting narrative in the next documentary series. It’ll be interesting to see how or if it adversely affects the home attendance. I imagine it will put a few off.

As above Blackpool were charged £30 for the Cat A game at Bolton last week. Their cat B games are £27, Cat C are £25.

Doesn't make it right but this is nothing new.

Plus Wrexham charge away fans £24 ( (£1 less). Excellent marketing as they're getting plaudits but the facts paint a very different picture.

Never been a fan of this guy since he was moaning about our away support and saying he’d reduce numbers.

He was crying about games being shown live midweek on I-Follow but happy to mock Wrexham fans paying more yesterday.

Always plays on the little old Club line to complain about bigger teams budgets and support but it’s all about what’s in it for him.

An ego maniac and top tosser for me 👎🏼

Agree entirely, grade one knob.

Maybe it'll bring Cat pricing into discussion generally as it bullshit.

It’s the way he always says he honest and straight up but then says he’s put Wrexham’s prices up because of policing costs totally negating their increased numbers would cover said costs.

This after his Twitter meltdown a few weeks ago about leaving and the coach comments on recruitment. He’s a proper helmet.

Ultimately it's a business and clubs the size of Accy need to make their money where they can. I don't really agree with price increases but that's not quite as bad as the classless X messages. He has done a lot of good things for Stanley but this wasn't one of them.

I dont really like Holt, but I get what he's saying tbf to him. If you have over a certain amount in the away end then cost go up massively, policing, stewards, etc. You have to mitigate that with pricing. He charged Sunderland, Sheff Wednesday, Derby and other club more in the past because of this exact reason. Add onto that they also had to pay for all the streaming set up but Wrexham dont have to pay them a penny from the international steams that they generate is wrong to me. Accrington are losing £600k a year right now, they need all the money they can get.

So can we decide if Holt is a top tosser, a grade one knob or a proper helmet ?

He charged the big clubs more because he could get away with it.

Feel like Wrexham have made a mountain out of a molehill here. Most clubs charge more when they know they're getting a bigger away following. We do it, Fleetwood do it, Wigan do it. It's almost standard now. Just another PR move to them when they're already charging fans £24 a game.

Saw Morecambe tweeting that Accy had only put prices up to what Wrexham charged already, with Wrexham concessions more. Andy Holt had kept that club together out of his own pocket for many years, been fair to his management team even after relegation, and got stabbed in the back by Coleman. He s the sort of chairman many lower league teams would kill for
