Advance Qatar WC party lands in Bahrain and now in Muscat Oman

Well got to say tonight’s game is pretty much “mission accomplished” despite a below par performance I can’t see Wales beating us by 3 clear goals.

Tonight was much more of a football experience than the Iran match.

Proper singing & chanting and a lot more England there.

The Blackpool Mob was 16 drinking in the Belgian bar at the Doha intercontinental.

It’s 2.48 here in Doha and we are waiting to fly back on the 4am to Muscat.

It’s definitely a day at the Pool tomorrow before going out to watch football at teatime.

John Hay was a better centre half than McGuire in his day⚽
I don’t doubt the case RB that John Hay who is with us on the trip was a very good player.
I also know McGuire has had some “very dark” form while Man United have failed as a club destroying his confidence which has in turn affected his form & him mentally too.
However, he was Englands MOM gfor me last night him, and without him USA would have beaten us last night in my opinion.

As I have said to John many times, the only reason he never played professional was because he was sht.

As John is a very good mate of mine I am allowed to say that 😂😏

Interestingly, Michael Robinson once said he was the physically hardest player he ever played against - and for those who don’t know who he is, he played for Man City and Liverpool and later became famous as a commentator in Spain - who is sadly no longer with us.

Anyway, I am never going to show him this thread as I can’t be seen to be saying something nice about him - mates simply don’t do that 😂😂😂😂👍👍👍

John - if you ever read this I didn’t mean it and you were sht at football pal 😂🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Played up against him plenty of times when he was centre half for Warwick Southpool. Long long time ago.

But did not the constant one twos with Stones actually invite pressure. The negative play started at the back

Which sides did yuu play for 20's? I remember playing for Central Club and John marked our centre forward Glen Ankers, what a great battle that was, two top amateur players.

Kingsfield. We climbed the divisions with Warwick. We've discussed Kingsfields manager on here before. Have to say I scored a few goals against them. Yeah, GA was a bloody big lad. In my later years I played with his brother. Warwick had so many fantastic players who tbh, were a good level up better than I could ever achieve.

I recall in our first year in the Sunday Prem we drew 0-0 with Warwick on Wrens, I told our young team we have now arrived and if we can compete with the Warwicks of this world who's side was loaded with very good Saturday players, we can compete with anyone.

12 months later we won the Prem and Gledhill double.

Good Morning England🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
Well preparations for the Wales game going well👍
I went to the Grand Mosque this morning to pray that we beat Wales convincingly, feel a bit guilty but did put on a £15 “insurance bet” at 300/1 that Wales beat England by 4 clear goals🤣
A £4500 return would “partially” help me get over yet another “heartbreak World Cup exit” but I hope and am sure that was £15 “down the drain”🙏🙏🤞🤞
Numbers of Poolsters starting to reduce out here in Muscat/Doha.
The meet up table in The Belgian Bar will be down to 10 from Fridays 16.
Rox and “his chickens” finally managed to find the right airport to get their respective flights home👍
No more caring duties for a while so over to you TAM🤣
Currently sunning myself at the rooftop pool at The Royal Tulip (a dry hotel!!) before meeting up at Havanas Bar at The Grand Hyatt to watch Brazil.
Early night as it’s a day on the Muscat / Doha Shuttles tomorrow, hoping to see a bit of Doha Pre match this time before the game as we fly out earlier and fly back later.
We get back 8.15am in Muscat Wednesday and I fly home 11.40pm from Muscat with Etihad via Abu Dabi arrive Thursday at Manny 5.50am to get the “mail train” to “The FY6 Principality”😀🚌🧡
Got to say I would recommend Muscat as a holiday to anyone, people very friendly & helpful, weather beautiful, lots to do & see, classy Arabic mainly all low rise buildings.
Also had a brilliant day on a boat followed by “clambering over rocks” walking on narrow cliffs and swimming in a hot spring under caves at the end…..”Highly Recommended Wadi-Pad👍
Eaten some cuisine and drink non alcoholic cocktails & smoothies I’ve never had before.
Went to an “amazing” themed Lebanese evening event at the Grand Hyatt last Sunday👍👍
So,,,,,,here’s to all the Good Blackpool/Poulton Folk “back home” 🎼and here’s hoping our boys “sail through” tomorrow🙏🙏🙏🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

So here we go again - just boarded the flight in Muscat on our way to Doha.

Poolsters on tour with the odd Man City fan thrown in.

A couple of quiet days have passed with, pool, beach, beers and football.

Now the fun really begins…..

Two more Seasiders headed home last night including @Torycorner and will he replaced by two more this weekend.

Quiet day today before flying to Dubai tomorrow and the match day shuttle on Sunday.

The question now is……how long will this adventure continue?

Most of us back home now from Muscat/Doha with the exception of Seasideone who is currently in Dubai.

Jet lag playing havoc with my ability to execute a massive “to do” list I have on.🙄🙄

I’m wide awake at 2am and don’t get back to sleep till 5am then wake up “knackered” at 8am🙄🙄🙄

Dare we dream about going back out to see England in the Final??

It’s still more unlikely than likely but the odds are shortening for us to make it.

I genuinely think France will be fearing playing England (with the same applying vice versa)

I have a provisional Final Ticket from the FA I have also already got a draw full of them from, 1998,2002,2006,2010,2014 & 2018🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

So yes I am in Dubai and my son has just headed for the airport.

The last 4-5 days have been a bit different to what I expected to say the least.

You may or may not be aware but there is something going around Qatar that isn’t Covid but it is flu like that gives you high temperatures.

The Senegal manager had it and I believe a few players have.

I thought I had Covid as the first test was positive but the next eight test were completely clean which suggests a false positive.

Bottom line is today is the first time I have really been out of bed since Friday and I still feel like toilet.

On Friday night I had a temp of 39.3c which according to google is 0.1c away off panic and get to hospital.

I wouldn’t wish this on a Preston fan!!

I like to look at this as all great players miss the odd game, so all being well I fly to Doha tomorrow to meet up with other Seasiders and get behind 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 on Saturday.

UTMP always, we will be watching the Brum game and COME ON ENGLAND 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
