Evening all,

Just a quick message to say AFC Blackpool will be hosting a Blackpool FC XI at Jepson Way tomorrow evening. This is a big game for Mechs which will hopefully help us to keep running this season.

We're hoping this will be the first of many games in the future and hopefully Blackpool fans can come out to support the clubs.

We've reduced our admission price as we don't feel rising prices is right for this game. It's £5 for Adults and £3 for concessions.

We're due some decent weather, so come down and enjoy a pint and some live football!

Yeah good luck AFC BFC - as they say 500 at this game equates to over £2k which I know from helping to run smaller clubs is a massive lifeline.
 
Nice evening for it I'm going. I'm guessing people like Daniels, Marriette, Holmes and Trusty will be involved.
 
Just been to Mechs ground and spoken with an official there. He confirmed to me that Holmes, Daniels, Marriette and Bange will be involved tonight in addition to a few Pool trialists. Looking like a great evening weather-wise so why not go along, take a look at our young prospects and help to make it a bumper attendance.
 
If the trialists are any good, you'd want to see them against better opposition. Looking at the pre-season games they all (with the exception of Salford) seem to be either run-outs for the fringe/academy players or proper tests for the squad. Unless there are matches in Scotland that we do not know about.

They will probably be triallists for the Development Squad, not the first team.
 
Trying players in alternative positions again with Tayt Trusty at CB. Not a lot to report so far. Could be lots of changes 2nd half.
 
Trusty, Holmes and Mariette have gone off. Joe Strawn has come on but not sure who the other 2 are.

Hopefully it can be an annual game now.

Many moons ago BFC would play Fleetwood pre-season when they were about two divisions higher than AFC are now. And as with AFC the game would give much needed revenue.
 
2 evenly matched sides, I'm sorry, but I don't think Bange isn't football league standard and never will be.
 
Hopefully the money they pulled in tonight will pay for a good lawn mower and a bit if grass seed, I’m sorry but the only thing missing on that pitch tonight was the cows and sheep, if I was a pro I’d have refused to play on it 😯
 
I don't think we learned much from that tonight, as fans. It was a group of lads put together that didn't look like a team and didn't really play like one which wasn't by the pitch which was very poor. I do hope though that the money raised tonight can go some way towards helping AFC Blackpool keep going. Enormous credit though to the Club for putting the game on and well done to all their squad.

Came on as a 2nd half sub. His role in the team is a striker. That's all that matters. He's still an u/18 so I suspect he will get at least the 1st half of the season playing for the Youth team. That's guesswork not ITK.

Very decent crowd that for AFC. No doubt the income from that one game is going to make a massive difference to the Mechanics and ensure their existence. Great to see that there were so many youngsters at the game too.
