Has anyone been to Alicante? Went to Sunseekers travel agents in town, managed to get a ridiculous deal. Flights with Jet2, 2 nights in a 3 star bed and breakfast, and luggage for £104 for 2 of us.

Any recommendations will be appreciated.

It’s one of the best places I have ever been in Spain, it’s everything Benidorm is not.

Been a while since I have been, but loads of old Tapas places in the centre and old bars and restaurants.

Which hotel are you in?

Was due for a couple of nights there last year, obviously didn’t make it.

Looks a fab city.
Great deal you’ve got. Enjoy 👍

Luggage??? For 2 nights?? I take hand luggage for 2 weeks!!

Never been but I love Spain, if you're going before Christmas you'll love it, they really celebrate it there and make sure you eat the Tapas.

Stayed over one night on the way back from Calpe , had an early flight home , we really enjoyed it , some nice restaurants etc not tatty , enjoy !

Writing this in Alicante. It's a great city to visit with a zillion bars and restaurants, impressive castle, excellent beach, marina, Old Town and a lovely promenade with scores of palm trees. Don't think two nights is long enough but would do as a taster. Sorry if I sound biased but we've had a house here for 32 years! Paid my £10 to TTV to watch the boys get three points today. UTMP.
PS It's a lovely sunny day!

yeah long way to go for just two nights. hope you've got early flights so you get plenty of time there. Seems to me you'll spend more time travelling to and in the airports and flying than time you'll actually spend there. Enjoy it though.

For £52 each, it was too cheap of a deal to turn down, even if I am there for a day and a half.
it’s a great city / don’t worry you will cram a lot in, in two days. We’ve been lots of times and love the place. Like others have said plenty of bars and restaurants both by the marina and further in the City. Are you staying by the marina or further in the city? enjoy….

Two days isn't bad especially for that price, the travel time all in is about the same as the North Highlands and plenty go up there for a couple of days, don't listen to the naysayers.

There’s a light rail system that runs to Benidorm if you fancy slumming it on one of the days. Really nice trip along the coast.

Thanks for pointing out Sunseekers. They have some real bargains at the moment, esp for golfers, if their website can be believed.

I hope your 2 nights didn't just get a PCR test and 2 days self isolation added on 👎

This is why I can't commit to booking anything at the moment as you never know what's going to change.

I flew back from Alicante airport yesterday after a 5 night golf break to La Manga. Alicante itself is definitely on my hit list after fantastic trips to Palma, Malaga and Seville pre covid
