An Evening with Ollie- tonight

Yep, it SOLD OUT pretty much solely to Club Members and Sponsors (Most of whose companies owners are members).

I offered to assist marketing the event to PLFS Members and on AVFTT but my offer was not taken up solely due to a Massive demand from the membership.😎

It’s for a real good cause a charity event in memory of one of the members (a top guy) whose Grandson sadly died earlier this year. ❤️

Looking forward to a good night with lots of fundraising.

Ashley. 🧡

I was in the club yesterday, if anyone fancies going there was just a few tickets left so be quick and ring up for them.
Yes there were a few last night so few the Club are relaxed whether they sell or not.
Are you going RB?

If so look forward to seeing you tonight Pal. 👍 Ash.

Talking of Ollie. Love him, or hate him and personally I thought he was the bees knees - this is well worth a watch. He’s still bursting with pride, all these years on.

You going Ragers? If so few of us are meeting in thatched at 5.30pm including your cousin-in-law 😀

Might well join you there Tigger.

As for Ollie, love him or loathe him due to his Oyston antics you cannot argue with the brand of football he brought to our club and took us to the PL where we became everyone's second team, the only other time I recall being so excited about watching the team home or away was in the Stan Mortensen era of Tony Green and Hutchy.

C’mon. He took us to the promised land and delivered with style, despite the Oyston’s total lack of investment at the time. There was no way we should have been relegated. Had we had VAR back then, we‘d have been many points clear of relegation. Ok, Ollie upset’ (that’s putting it mildly) lots of fans with his ‘feelings’ about the Oystons, BUT! would you rather have endured the past recent history of that lot up the M55, or gone on that amazing trip?

Anyone who was there ask him to send his CV in to Sadler without delay.

Who knows he might well be the next stand out candidate that kept jumping out at him.

Totally agree best football we’ve ever had but it’s tangerine not fecking orange and he should know better

To those who went . Any good ?

I know was torycorner says it was boring but not sure what he expecting.

Ollie came at the right time & it really worked, but I'd be shocked if he returned & did it again, absolutely shocked. So it's another don't go back for me. Anyway we've only recently got a new (well second hand) manager, so I think whatever the fuck he is trying to do he should be afforded until Christmas.

I had zero interest in listening to his hollow words
Based on Ash’s post sounds like I didn’t miss anything
You didn’t well not in the first half anyway.

Didn’t come cheap either IMO I refuse to say how much as it may be confidential.

The Charity raised good money for a good cause, the pie chips and potatoes were very good so overall a successful evening.

He was given orange counters. The coaches voice always uses orange and white counters whether it's Ian Holloway or Jose Mourinho.

Sadly, I have to agree with Ash
I think most people wanted to hear him speak about his time Blackpool, hear about his relationship with the owners firsthand et cetera, however, his speech was about his childhood, his relationship with his father, et cetera

It did get more interesting in the second half (I think Ashley had already left by then) they did a question and answer session, which obviously became more about football and was far more interesting than his childhood

Overall, an enjoyable evening and I suspect plenty raised for a very good cause

Greatest manager in my lifetime. So he'll always be a legend to me.
For me who have supported them during good years with Stokoe, Morty and Les Shannon, this was without a doubt my favourite football era and the most exciting.

However, the greatest Manager in my lifetime was Billy Ayre........ he wouldn't have said 'orange'

Since when did we all become completely overwhelmed with entitlement by a managers words not being what we want to hear? Personally I couldn't give a flying fig if he never slated the Oystons or that he left for more money at a bigger club.

It's his actions that counted. All these people slating him now were not doing so in 2009 - 2011. He was our rock star and the crazy bastard had us beating Spurs and Liverpool and outfootballing half of the Premier League.

He went way beyond that and it was completely unnecessary
No overwhelmed entitlement here
I just won't pay to listen to him

The day after he was announced as manager we had the Deepdung Revisited charity night at the club.
Matt Williams asked if he could do the auction/ raffle at halftime and a quick q+a session, in the end we ran out of questions however he talked about his leaving of Plymouth and having promised his dad that he would never walk out of a contract ever again....
Hollowords.

Do you expect these people to cosset you in warm words forever? He came and did a great job. He's proud of what he did with his squad. That will not leave him. Even in the top flight most of what he said was drivel but that's the man. He's a force of nature - for good or bad. Don't dwell on your shoulder-chips.

So the man's imperfect. There go the rest of us.
