Getting straight to the point.

I don’t understand why we’ve had complete radio silence regards Josh and potentially moving on since January. Why haven’t we at least tried to get him on a contract?
Or perhaps we have done, but the way it’s been handled it looks very amateurish in my opinion.
Big signing on fee, gets to stay one more year, probably adds another £5m to his value and then the bigger clubs will by then be sniffing around.
If he doesn’t go to the prem, then we shouldn’t sell as I’d hate to play against him this season.
If he does goto the prem, I fear he might get lost in all the newbies, rising stars, has beens, forgotten gems etc etc…

Was thinking today, we’ve just signed a pre contract agreement with Lyon’s yet let him stay to the end of the season. In the past I’ve seen players join prem clubs and then get loaned back (Wilfred Zaha), and Watford have done it too, but taking advantage of a loophole.
So why can’t we at least do that?
I honestly don’t think I’ve seen a player for us or the opponents as good as Josh can be, since we were in the prem and David Silva ripped us apart (and various other greats).

If he does go, I do hope we aren’t just gonna flood the team with loan players.

Time will tell.
When he gets the ball, I’ve never seen anything like it. He’s what makes me want to watch football.

Bowler has been offered the best contract we’ve ever offered, he’s not signing anything, he knows what he can get elsewhere will be triple what he can here, the club have done it’s best, if we had stuck him on a four year deal and he was crap then they would be getting slated for that as well, it is what it is now, we would all love him to stay but football doesn’t work like that, the money teams like forest and Bournemouth after going up to the prem can offer is different levels to what we can. All we can hope for is we get whatever we can and it’s reinvested into the squad.

It’s his choice to sign or not and I’m sure the club will have tried. From his point of view, he’s in the driving seat, he either goes now and gets bigger wages, or waits until su when he can command even more.

What do you expect - the club to issue a statement every time Mansford texts JB’s agent? Remarkable to call it amateurish when none of us have any idea what’s gone on.

We’ve probably offered him a new contract but even if he did sign, which he won’t, it would have a stupidly low release clause. Ultimately we’ve messed up by not giving him along enough contract.

We just have to get the best price possible or keep him to Jan/the end of season. Which ever makes most financial sense for us.

It was Josh's (and his agent's) choice to take a 1+1 contract. He was offered a longer contracr.

It was Bowler and his agent who would only sign a 1 plus 1 contract, they saw newly promoted Blackpool as an opportunity to put him in the shop window, in hindsight it worked very well for them.

So a few replies are just a little OTT.
I merely said it “looks” amateurish. Perhaps it’s also because the media haven’t asked the question (or been told not to reveal the answer), from Matt or Sean etc.

It’s interesting how a few seem to know what contract was offered initially when he joined, and what has been offered this summer. Just goes to show that a few DO know what’s going on.
And so I’ve learnt from the replies that certain things have gone on behind the scenes.

That’s all I asked for, a little communication and thanks to those who have shed some light on things.
Great, they’ve done everything in their power to keep him. Let’s move onto the next.

Bowler has been offered multiple new contracts. He’s in a position of power and I don’t blame him. Going to Forest is a huge mistake mind.

When you sign a player on a free who has been rejected by his club it’s not good business sense to offer him a four year deal.
You win some and you lose some, in Bowler’s case we lost out, simple as that!
But if he stays great, if he goes we make a tidy sum.

Hardly lost out . We've had a committed , skillful player for two seasons paid nowt for him and will get plenty for him.
Maybe not as much we'd like but that's how life works

Agreed, but by lost out, I meant on a mega transfer deal

I bought a second hand banger two years ago and it’s been perfect since, in fact it’s running better than ever, but I’m going to get leSS than I paid for it. It’s simply not fair.

Fuck me we have some idiots in our fan base.

Care to discuss the summer transfer window where our supposed top targets joined other teams?
When we were about to sign a player, then backed out last minute as we knew another was available, yet he went to another team?
☝️Both of the above are in the division below.

Care to discuss the Jan 2022 transfer window where we knew an asking price yet pissed about with two/three offers and thus nothing came of it? And that’s for one player?

I take my hat off for the way most of this club is run, but as has been seen now in the last 3 transfer windows, we cannot compete with most of the clubs in this league in the wages front, so why do this? If a wage structure isn’t altered, then we will never get the players we want.
At some point, the worm has to turn.

I’m v happy with the players we’ve brought in this last week, so maybe it has turned? Maybe the board have lowered their expectations as to what players we could get in?
Yet to call me an idiot for reacting to the information available to a mere mortal fan that I am, is a bit petty don’t you think?

I think it’s safe to say that most fans are a little frustrated by the way things have panned out?
Or is doing most of our transfer business in the last week available acceptable?

Food for thought.

Instead of such a cryptic “I know more than you do” reply, perhaps you can shed light into what’s happened behind the scenes.
I’m just a football fan, who pays for his season ticket and watches the games 👍

No one knows.

Most don't call the club amateurish even though they have no insight.

Edit: that post above 🤣 you're getting yourself all in a tither. Get a grip. We've had a good window this window and are making continuous progression each window.

We've had him for one season and six games. Not really two seasons.

Am I missing something? Boro allegedly offer 7.5 million for emil riis at nob end...the whole frickin team have scored 1 goal all season Ffs!! How can florist only offer 3 mill for Josh??? Wtaf......??

Because were poor little Blackpool, we should take the 3M and be grateful 😒

You need to understand how important it is about the length of contract a player has left. Bowler less than a year and the nobber substantially more. Means the nobbers are in a much stronger position when it comes to holding out for their valuation than we are. Of course if Bowler had two or three years left on his contract then imo he'd be worth upwards of 10 million.

Not sure how you’ve reached that conclusion but each ti their own. Ease off with the snide remark’s though. 👍

What's snide about quoting you directly ans commenting?

I reached that conclusion because you said you didn't know what was happening but still called the club amateurish.

Why haven’t we at least tried to get him on a contract?

Ok.
It’s pretty obvious your passive aggressive “😂” was meant in a mocking kind of way, especially after following it up by saying I was getting myself in a tither and that I should get a grip?

I’d say that’s pretty personal to me. I merely have an opinion, as do you. The other stuff isn’t needed.

We will only know whether we’ve have had a good transfer window, when it’s ended.
I hope that’s the case. 👍🍊
