Anyone been to Wet Spam's new ground?

Went to the Olympics, it's been changed since then of course but it's essentially an athletics stadium. Good facilities.

Went for the world athletic championships, good stadium for track and field, but I've never been for the football.

Seen a photo the other day which shows the drink prices there. £6.50 a pint! Makes our £4.50 look cheap

Went to watch the baseball a couple of years ago.

Edit to add:

It was weird trying to orientate where the pitch would normally be relative the diamond etc.

Was working in London so went to watch Accrington play West Ham.
** “Sterile” and only went to get the ground.
Went to a World Cup Rugby game in 2015 a bit better I suppose.
Will NOT bother flying back from Spain for FA Cup if we beat Florists

I've been a few times and the obvious main negative is that you're a long way away from the pitch and the other one is that the atmosphere is nothing like the Boleyn as they've now attracted the middle classes and families like Arsenal et al. I've been in the upper tier of the away end behind the goal and you need binoculars to see the action in the opposite goalmouth, I've also been in the home end alongside the pitch and, whilst you're nearer the pitch, you just can't get a very good perspective. The upper v lower decision is like any other ground but just add around 30-50m onto what you're used to. Think of the old Wembley. I think upper tier is still the best personally, the nearer the front rows the better.

The positives are that the facilities are great: lots of space and large concourses with lots of choice for food and drink albeit expensive. In terms of drinking and eating before and after the game the London Stadium is one of my favourite grounds in the country. On the east side in Stratford you have the traditional pubs favoured by the old skool fans (probably best avoided as an away fan) and on the north-west side you have the River Lee and Hackney Wick which are full of places to eat and drink. It is all bit hipstery - think craft beer, bars on boats, bars with board games, bars with space invader games, vegan options, etc, etc - and a lot more friendly.

I've been up in that rubbish looking sculpture thing to do some filming with clients for business purposes. Won't be hurrying back.

Never been in the ground but when me and the Mrs go to London we stay at the Holiday Inn in Stratford so it’s around the corner

Been for Olympics and Egg chasing. This is not a football stadium, shocking views.
However, the concourse is good though expensive. Definitely seek out the "local" pubs rather than the sanitised Stratford shopping centre.
One to go if you need to tick it off or fancy a weekend in That There
Much prefer Brizzle to play.

A new stadium
London weekender
If we get through and get them I’ll be there
WHAT!!!!!!
You & Mosser??
Or just You??
Critch Still In!!!
Why have you not got him Out???
Sorry Tim “Still”mmmmm “Still” Happy Clapping”
“Already” got the ground Pal …🤣🤣

Hammers have got a lot of injuries now after that game, be just our luck we'll beat the Florists and Brizzle will get through!

As we could be playing them just wondering what it's like?
I was down in London not long after they moved there.

I went into their “home” pub pre match which was a great experience, but it was a good 30 minutes walk away from the ground.
I saw nothing outside the ground - food stalls, programme sellers etc. Maybe it was the direction/way we walked?
Inside there was no atmosphere, their vocal sections were split up and it lacked any atmosphere. WHU did go behind though against Southampton and it was not a memorable game.

However I believe things have improved drastically and there are now loads of places closer around the ground pre match etc. I’m sure the vocal areas must have been sorted and they have a proper section now. It cannot be any worse than what I remember.

I have no love for WHU whatsoever but I did feel really sorry for the fans (yes I did), as the Boleyn Ground did have a great atmosphere and buzz about it.

We went to London last April and as the wife and daughter wanted to go round the big shopping centre next to the ground, I went on line and remarkably easily got tickets for West Ham v Aston Villa. Maybe it was an off day but not a great atmosphere but the ground is really impressive in terms of facilities but like any athletics stadium turned football ground, you do feel a good distance from the pitch.
