As my wife is in the vulnerable category, Ive been careful to "protect" her and not been out to any hospitality type places yet since March, however reading through the threads, it appears I'm in a minority.
Anyone else in the same boat?

Went for lunch in St.Annes yesterday for the first time. It all felt a bit weird and if I’m honest not that relaxing.

I’m sure loads have been to pubs etc., but at the moment for us we’ll restrict our visits at present.

Yep, same here, and have only been out for food twice in the last 6 months. Chose two places we frequent regularly and know the owners well, and sat outside in the sunshine. Everything good.

Have been going out a lot in the daytime over the last 4 months but have got into the habit of taking a picnic. Which is nice...

Haven't been anywhere other than supermarkets or off license since March. Also only had 1 takeaway. The BBQ has been absolutely hammered however!

I'm not in the same boat as yourself... I could go out for meals and drink but I just don't think I'd enjoy it anywhere near as much as I used to. Perhaps I'm just old!

Yep been out for meals, coffee, pub and shops since everything opened and will continue to do so.

Got my parents booked for a meal out next week for the first time so hopefully they'll enjoy themselves.

No pubs and only maccie d drive through and the local Chinese takeaway

Even shopping in a forced face nappy is now a military exercise akin to a panzer attack on the Russian Plains. You just can't browse and chill shop in a muzzle

Went to a local Italian restaurant on Monday night, first time out since March, all quite comfortable, loads of space between tables, hand sanitiser available at various locations. The staff were all wearing visors and seemed to be clued up on what they were doing. A lot better than I thought it would be to be honest.

Pubs are closed here unless they are serving full meals so no. At our advanced age I think we will stay clear even when they open.

I felt quite relaxed eating out until I read the research that the virus can remain contagious in the air at distances of up to 4.8 metres. Not so sure now.

I've been out 3 or 4 times a week over the past month to a number of pubs at lunch times and after work for a couple of hours. They seem to have it well organised, plenty of cleaning and hand sanitizers around the place. I quite enjoy being able to order drinks by app or being asked at my table what I would like to drink. I don't miss having to go to the bar and order drinks stood with some dubious looking people

sat in at one pub [Owd Nells] and sat out at a two or three sometimes with a meal. As OL says it's great that bar staff come to your table to take your order.

Me too, sit at the table and order via the app

No pubs as such but a few meals out. More social distancing in most restaurants than there was in my office when I worked through lockdown.

No classed in the vulnerable section so have avoided.
My behaviour mirrors that of GTFsTwinBrother exactly one takeaway only.

Even missed my birthday its hard though.
Thinking of perhaps trying a pub for a couple of pints outside weather permitting in a couple of weeks if possible as i miss it.

Yep, in the same boat. I know others who were shielding and have been out to restaurants a feW times. Not sure I’d be comfortable just yet. Though I have booked for 2 weeks today. Can always cancel.

We were away last week and ate out in a couple of village pubs for a well organised and very tasty meal with a couple of pints. They were off the beaten track so that probably helped.

Are many pubs open in Blackpool?
I'm in Morecambe and quite a few are open here.
Supposed to be in Blackpool 12 Sept for the weekend with brother in law and his wolves mates...

Nearly all the bars are open the ones closed are more like night spots like Revolution who have dancing and DJ's so pointless opening.

So you are saying that there will be no restaurants?
I 'm saying unless we support them they will have to close with staff becoming unemployed like any business.

If I go to pub I sit outside in the beer garden (been just twice since we were allowed) if it’s raining I simply don’t bother going.

After 3 months it’s something I don’t miss anymore.

Been to a few pubs and restaurants. Some are stricter than others, and there are a few inconsistencies with some of the procedures. But I've felt safe and happy with everything that has been put in place, and enjoyed it. As said above, it's quite nice going to a pub now and not have to queue at a bar. Noticing that entertainment such as bands and DJ's are creeping back to certain venues as well, albeit at "lower volume levels" if that's even possible!

All up to the individual I suppose and I understand those that don't want to go, but personally I've been more than comfortable wherever I've been.

No pub or restaurant for a long time....last time I can remember eating out and having a pint was in the evening of February the first *and that was only because we were in the Holiday Inn in Southampton staying overnight before boarding Oceana for a two week cruise.Even though we have three pubs within less a 5 to 10 minute walk from our house ,all of which serve food ,we’ve not been in any of them or any others for that matter for a long long time because home cooked is best and there are plenty of good beer and wine available from the supermarkets to enjoy it with.

*it was the day we played Oxford away and I had to drive past ( On the A34 ) within a couple of miles of the ground around an hour before Kick off.The wife would not have been pleased if I’d made the detour to see the game ( especially with a car full of luggage) but as we lost ,and apparently we were dreadful, then I clearly didn’t miss much, though it would have been a new ground for me😉

We haven't been to a restaurant or a pub since early March.
On the bad side, we haven't seen our 10 y.o. G/G/son at all.
We've only seen our 7 month old one 3 times since he was born, haven't had a hug. Plenty of smiles though.😄
Cancelled our yearly trip to France when their situation worsened.

Waiting till all the tourists go home and it's quiet. Will probably start with a pint with the work crew after we close one night

Been to the pub several times here, mainly sat in the garden but inside also and it has been absolutely fine. Had one meal out and it was fine too. I wouldn't go into a packed pub, only one that is quiet or has a nice garden and plenty of space.

I am going to Perranporth in a couple of weeks and have booked a couple of tables in 2 different restaurants and I am looking forward to it.

However, I haven't been in a food shop for months, my partner does all the shopping and I have absolutely no intention of going on a plane or any public transport or book a foreign holiday until things are completely clear, which could be a couple of years.

I am really missing live music and cannot wait for venues to re-open and festivals to start again.

Finally been in a beer garden. Drinks ordered on the phone, drinks served by waitress wearing a mask. All good! Only taken 5 months.

As I posted earlier I go every week but wouldn’t dream of being there after 7. We went to our local on A Level Results day and thought it was Youth Club. They all went in the garden but social distancing went out of the window. Over 25’s only now, I don’t need proof!

I went to two pubs whilst on my week's holiday in Whitby. The second one was at Ruswarpe, where we sat in the garden after a nine-mile walk. the landlord was a Trotter fan and very comedic. the other was in Whitby with a landlord who could be entered for the most miserable sod competition.

As for restaurants, a fish and chip restaurant in Whitby, and I finally took the plunge, locally, last week going to the Crafty Indian in Shipley. Excellent food but a bit dicky on the social distancing front.

Been to the West Coast a few times. They've removed some tables, staff masked/ visored, loads of hand sanitizer etc.
Been to the Rose and Crown. Took our name and number Plenty of space and also been to the Farmers. Had to book, all the usual safeguards in place. It's a different experience though.

We have being eating out at independent places since cafes/restaurants re-opened. Not been inside a pub though.

Went to Southport last Saturday. The place was packed no social distancing, hardly any masks and the pubs doing very nicely, thank you.
