If so let me know what you think of the King Crows (think they are playing ),s at the Tache for two days rehersing
Only asking as my brother in law Phil Estine is lead singer for them.

Walked through town earlier, loads already hanging around or with suitcases in tow heading for their digs. Looks good, brightens the place up.

Is the Tower Headland set up part of Rebellion or another entity?

Just picked up our wristbands. Wanted to stay up but thought better of it as the liver's going to take enough of a battering Thursday- Sunday.
The RFest on the Headlands is semi autonomous. Those of us with weekend Winter Gardens tickets also get free access to the Headland gigs. Those with RFest tickets only don't have access to the winter gardens. RFest is £50 a day which is cheap as chips for the seven bands on each day.

You can buy tickets just for the headlands, or for WG’s and the headlands.
Thursday’s line-up for the headlands is awesome, can’t wait.

Yep, gutted I’m not here for this. Thursday‘s line up is fantastic. Let me know how Dreadzone go on without MC Spee, he’s stepped down due to health issues. He seemed irreplaceable but I’m sure they’ve managed it…for me Dreadzone are an amazing live/festival band. Saw The Levellers in Holmfirth a few weeks ago, awesome. I’ll be rocking to some of these and the Winter Gardens bands at Stone Valley North Festival this week end, I think you and I have discussed it before.
Happy Skanking 😎 🇯🇲

Yes - playing The Tache tonight and Rebellion tomorrow. If I see v King Crows I will feedback.

This is the busiest ever Rebellion, most tickets sold. Hope the R-Fest is well attended …

Bad Religion were headlining the Empress but have had to go back to the States due to family emergency. Skids have filled in.
Squeeze: Chris Difford is in hospital but last I heard, Glenn Tilbrook and the rest are going to play.
I'd not heard about the Levellers. That would be a blow if it's correct given they're headlining tomorrow night. Hawkwind will have to play for 3 hours plus. Smiles.

Do you know anything about Levellers pulling out, Andy?

Yes going can’t wait.

The Skids on two nights, doesn’t get any better than that.

Looking forward to seeing a few bands for the first time.

Didn't realise he wasn't performing with them... His moves with be a massive miss even if they replace the vocals. 🕺

I'd have gone myself to see Dreadzone, Levellers and Ferocious Dog, but unfortunately I'm away at the minute,

I will be there 👍
Went to the very first one in 1996 with Vegaspool when it was called 'Holidays in the Sun' festival. Only 3 days back then, headliners were X-ray Spex on Fri - The Damned on Sat - Buzzcocks on Sun.
I remember that mate, funny thing is I went to sea in 97. I was in a huge music store in Tokyo they love Punk there I saw a CD with Blackpool Tower on the front. It was a double CD of the 3 days. Still got it.

First night done, the Skids were brilliant. Fortunately they are on again tonight on the prom which, weather permitting, is a brilliant location. The Professionals, Sham 69, the Undertones and the Stranglers tonight as well. Toyah, the Blockheads and Jilted John also if you can fit them in.

Is it Jilted John or Jilted John Shuttleworth who is playing ?

Had a great day yesterday, spent most of it on the Headlands but did manage to get up to the Winter Gardens a couple of times.
The sound system seemed to be going a bit wonky on the prom towards the end, perhaps caused by wind (?), but a great 1st day, what a festival!!
👍

What about From the Jam?

Spoke to John Robb about this at lunchtime. He was just about to set off to Blackpool. A young man overhearing our conversation about John "working" tonight asked him if he was barman. 🍻🍺 😂
