Anyone we've played this season who you would be interested in signing?

In all honesty, I don’t know who Fleetwood’s best player is as I think Fleetwood have been garbage this season and the reason I’ve gone with Burns is because he’s been there for a long time, has he not? If he’s not Fleetwood’s best player who do you think who’s the best player for Fleetwood?

No idea, but Wes Burns is not the key to our future.

I have watched him in a good few Oxford games (About 10)and he was comfortably their best and most dangerous player and he has bags of talent...I think we could make a proper player out of him
TTP - Good to see you and Junior on Sunday. Much better watching a game with a familiar face.

So I only saw Barker in the 2 play off games. He made that immediate impact in the first leg, but then seemed to drift away quickly. Were those driving runs a key part of his game or does he have other strengths that we nullified?

Brennan Johnson
Ronan Curtis
Joe Piggot
Charlie Kirk
George Honeyman
Sam Szmodics
Jorge Grant

Take your pick. There’s some big talent in league 1.

He's a flair player, no doubt about that. Not dissimilar to Kaikai, Embleton and maybe even Anderson. But that's the problem. How do you get the consistent performances out of these types of players. Kaikai has been an enigma in that respect ever since he joined us.

Johnson is actually a Forest player and expected to make an impact with them next season.

Just wonder if we may plot a triple raid on Everton? Ellis Simms on a season long loan is a no brainer , Josh Bowler is on a free but highly rated and Beni Baningime may be available for a reasonable fee with him coming into the last year of his contract? The latter was linked with us last pre-season and was with Derby from January but only played a few games. It all may depend on who Everton appoint as the next manager.

If we were to push the boat out for anyone this Summer I'd want it to be for Scott Twine.

A 21 year old CAM who in the first half of the League 2 season scored 6 and assisted 7 in 19 matches. And in the second half of the season in League 1 scored 7 and assisted 3 in 25 matches.

What his stats tell me at such as young age is that the lad is developing at a breakneck pace.

We desperately need more goal contributions from midfield to do well in the Championship and he would do just that.

His contract is up in June and I'd honestly offer him whatever he wants, make the pitch about attacking football and that he'd get lots of playing time, how Blackpool are on the up, Critchley's track record with developing talent, etc.

Only issue is that there are A LOT of clubs lining up for his signature. Peterborough, Sunderland, Pompey, QPR, Brentford, and Burnley are all interested.

Read on the BBC Website that Sunderland were interested in signing Dion Sanderson from Wolves.
A 21 year old centre back who played on loan for them last season. Their best run of form ended when he got injured,

Might be worth an enquiry ?

PS Wolves recently signed a promising centre back from Grimsby….. Matt Pollock………If Sanderson is not available then maybe he would be a loan target
A Pollock from Grimsby.......smells a bit fishy to me! 🤪

Wes Burns & Kyle Vassell were both a handful against us at Bloomers.

Latest on Scott Twine "On 14 May 2021 it was announced that he had been offered a new contract.[19] However he turned this contract down after hearing of interest from other clubs, and will be joining Portsmouth the expiry of his contract at the end of June 2021."

I wouldnt say ive seen that many defenders who have stood out for me in League one this year. Eyoma from Lincoln is probably the best one ive seen.

Wikipedia edit by a Pompey fan I presume.

Nothing announced anywhere and it looks like his recruitment is very much open.

I think you will find that Pollock signed for Watford!

I thought he started brilliantly but really struggled for some time after his bout of Covid but he has reverted to how he was when he joined us. I stand by my criticism of him for that middle period of time 😉
He was brilliant this season. Even when you were criticising him I thought he was playing well. Covid does affect the ability of sports people to play at their peak, but he was still winning tackles in spite of it. Dougall is a key player for us, maybe THE key player. He typifies and maybe determines our style. He sets our tempo, stops the opposition, and provides a calmness in the middle. He's not spectacular (although he's started to be!) but a lot of the best players aren't.

* @Plumbs mode on*

Get a deal for Twine tied up soon

Was good to see you Straighters..always good to catch up....Barker has always impressed me when I have watched him (though we definitely kept him quiet at Bloomfield Road) He reminds me of Wes Hoolihan in some ways as he isnt the quickest but has bags of skill. He is more consistent than Kai kai and can beat his man at will...with the right coaching and confidence level he could be polished into a really good player. I guess Critch knows all about him as he will have monitored him at City as he is of that age group. I think the other player I liked was Gwion Edwards at Ipswich and he destroyed us at Bloomfield road.

The problem with trying to judge from those early season games is that we were so far removed from the squad that finished the season. Especially defensively in terms of our shape and solidity.

I always used to think Bryan Griffiths was really dangerous. It was only when he joined us that I realised some of his ability was linked to playing against Mike Davies 😀

I thought Connor McGrindles looked brilliant against Sunderland in the second leg, but he was invisible in the final.
