Appleton’s taking us down

What happened to the shite he was spouting about the lads raring to go?. Listless, clueless from players and management. Its a simple choice either sack him and give us a 50/50 chance of staying up or we go back to League1.

I was very happy to give him a second chance with the signings over the last couple of weeks, and was quite hopeful he would turn it around, especially after the Forest game last week. But today has been utterly woeful once again. Brings in all these attacking players and I can't think of one chance we've created. The whole gameplan has been to lump it long to an isolated Madine. It's just utterly inept tactics. Lineup wasn't what anyone wanted nor expected, I mean how can you not play Lyons after last week, or even Yates up top after his contribution after coming on. And the subs came far too late (straight after they scored to be exact), he's reactive rather than pro-active.

We're going down unless we make a change before the Huddersfield game, I truly believe that now.

We played 4 outfield defensive minded players (the back 4) and 6 attacking players. The balance is so wrong. At least play Kenny until Trybull is fit to get the balance right.

Sleep walking our way down. Too little too late with the incoming players.

You have to be very lucky for all the new players to intergrate and turn the tide in the time we have left. Luck aside I'm not sure appleton and his staff have the ability to do it.

Exactly how I feel too. Can't see us getting out of this now with him in charge.

A couple of weeks ago, I posted my first negative comment about MA saying that he's not the guy to get us out of trouble.

Now my second. Why is he seemingly the only one who can't see opposition midfielders walking through our weak midfield pairing of Patino and Carey?

Why is he the only one who can't see when the set up isn't working and subs are urgently needed.
Watford did it, we didn't

I get it that he's been restricted in his formations by injuries, but not changing things early enough when the formation isn't working is costing us time and again.

Sorry to have to say it, but he's got to go if we're to have any chance at all. I really hope the management team have someone lined up, but I'm not holding my breath.

I'm so sad and disappointed tonight, but I feel more for the 1300 plus who travelled.

His best players are regularly on the bench. He’s tactically clueless. Only brings subs on when we’re up against it. Sorry Simon, but stick with him and we’ve had it.

Because he is an Arrogant tool who thinks he is right.

As I've said before he has never achieved the points per game required to keep us up in his championship career. It's so obvious that he's out of his depth and we are going down if we stick with him.

I've given him the benefit of the doubt, he was unlucky with injuries I don't think the suspensions can be put down to bad luck, and this sometimes forced his hand. Square pegs had to be played in round holes but that isn't the case now.
He has all the pegs he needs but he has made a framework where he continues to bang square ones into round holes.
Connolly isn't a right back, Lyons is so play him.
Patino and Carey too young and inexperience to play as the 2 in the middle, play Dougall or Trybull alongside one of them.
Madine is slow and static, not suited to the lone striker role, play Yates who would be better but not ideal.
If he doesn't make the best of the available squad against Huddersfield then he has to go, he has been given longer than most coaches on the back of so many bad performances and results.

I try and be positive, I try and look on the bright side but there is no bright side right now. We deservedly lost to a Watford side that's absolutely riddled with injuries. He's not even playing our best goalkeeper ffs. I'm done with him, he's got to go unfortunately though I can't see Mansford sacking his mate. So depressing.
Should have took the game to them today and attacked - Yates and Lavery looked sharp , as they have done in the last games, but they warm the bench . Finally get a right back at last !!! Oh , he can warm the bench as well , but our prolific goal scoring captain fantastic can start !!

Agree with what you say, apart from the last paragraph. He needs to be nowhere near Bloomers next Saturday

We always find a way not to win and we will be relegated if he stays…I have nothing positive to say about him…he should go and so should Mansford… we then need to bite the bullet and offer Chris Wilder what he wants to come in (it would be @10k a week but we’ll worth it if he keeps us up

I think he needs to thank his coaching staff at Lincoln, because he has no idea on selection and tactics, they certainly covered his lack of nous only way we are going under Appleton's tenure, is down, we have some very good players but he consistently leaves them on the bench until it's too late,
