Appleton got potted

WE bottled it when we played them at the Valley, losing a two goal lead , so we owe them one. Let's give it to them on Saturday.

That's a tellingly brutal announcement from Charlton. They didn't wait until this morning and there was no, 'We thank Michael for his efforts'.

Cannot say anyone would be surprised by this Charlton have suffered during his time in charge. Like us pushing for promotion should be a minimum but they are much closer to the drop and were not improving - well not before next week i hope at least. I wonder which club will take him on next as people like him always seem to get what they don't deserve - need to drop down a league or 2 for his next appointment and rebuild.

The decisions being made by the club were all over the place. Critchley leaving really threw a spanner in the works and instead of dealing with it they managed to make a total balls up of it. It wasn't his fault they employed him, that rests squarely on Sadler's shoulders and then they didn't support him with the players he needed for his system and no fucker other than Sadler wanted him as our manager so I would say he had a really rough deal and we paid the price because, as you say, he should have been potted earlier, and certainly not replaced with McCarthy.

If we end the season well and get in the play offs then he will have admonished himself a bit, if we go up he will be lauded. if we end the season with a whimper then the spotlight will be on Sadler's ability to pick a manager. I have a feeling the manager and players are up for it and the supporters need to be too and as they say take each game as it comes.
Pretty sure it was Mansford who wanted him and handily had his number already.

He is missing a key skill in making friends and influencing people above and below you. Kind of crap if you are a football manager I think! He has plenty of self belief and probably knows his football.

This lad read it spot on and it's a pity our fans and board didn't get it after the Wigan game when we should have been demanding him gone.

Those who went to Wigan made it pretty clear he needed to go, both in the ground and online.
I went and I have to leave a few minutes early due to being unsteady on my feet and its better than waiting until everyone has gone so I missed that bit 🤦‍♂️

'Sacked in the morning' was ringing from the stands and I was amazed it didn't happen. Seemed obvious we weren't going to improve.

I think he does a very good job of influencing people above him - particularly club boards with vacant manager positions!
