Apter is the new Bowler....discuss

Inexperienced showed with a few misplaced passes but he will learn a lot. Very difficult to judge but he has done himself no harm.

Apter couldn't lay it off to Patino, which Apter clearly wanted to, because Patino was lagging at least a yard behind, too far off the pace of the attack. If he had played it foward at the best possible moment, Patino would not have got to the ball. Hence Apter had only one option to take it past the man and shoot from not the greatest of angles.

Can understand Charlie being a bit p*ssed off, but Apter’s playing for his tangerine future - Charlie isn’t.

Sorry, but yes, in the moment I’d have gone for it!

bowler had his first decent game since coming back, rogers is really growing into the team, works hard, normally got a great touch, Patino did the basics well, judd and nelson were just epic. CJ did enough for me to want to keep him.

thought Apter looked really good when he came on, he only looks slight but doesnt seem very easy to knock off the ball.

I would hope we could sign Rogers as a pool player.

Misplaced passes? Are you sure?
We were saying that he was a step up from his colleagues with his breaking up of play and then being able to find a pool player.
A wins a win but thought until Apter came on that Fiorini had to much to do, with very little today from Patino and Carey.

If you watch the development final, Apter played very much in the Hoolahan tradition.
Can receive the ball in tight spaces and then accelerate very quickly into the opponent's danger zone and can then avock.
Has good tight , one touch control and , from what I've seen, uses the ball quickly and most importantly cleverly.
That's what Hoolahan was good at . Being quick and clever which opens up space . Very handy in those tight midfield areas . At league 1 level, Apter could be a revelation

Andy Lyons is over hyped? Football isn't your game if you think Andy Lyons hasn't been ** brilliant since January.

Defensively he hasn’t been ** brilliant. Doing the basics like the stopping crosses as opponent players seem to get a yard on him too easily. Having said that, he defended well today.

Apter is without doubt the development squad player most likely to break through ATM, ironically relegation could be the best thing to happen for the likes of him and Brad Holmes and Alex Lankshear etc

The only bright side to relegation is that it might be easier to bring the youngsters through. Apter looked good pre-season, Scunthorpe fans raved about him and I thought he did well today. As someone above said, reminded me a little more of Wes than bowler, but if he’s half as good as Hoolahan, that’ll do for me.

We seem to have a few good young ones coming along nicely which is unusual for us but brilliant heading into next season and great for the future.

Lyons is learning his trade and is an outstanding talent. he also seems willing to learn and improve. very much unlike you, i'm afraid.

your relentless negativity is worrying and i truly feel sorry for anyone close to you who has to put up with your shit in real life.

getting back to the thread, rob is clearly a talent too. i hope that dobbs is appointed because development is key in our next phase.

Alex Lankshear is Dobbie's favourite.
Thanks for that Insy, it'll be interesting to see their development next season for sure.

Whilst we're on the subject of the younger lads, what are your thoughts on Taylor Bowen? What little I've seen (in the development squad Cup final) he looked decent and he's a big unit phyically for a kid that age and of course he finished with a Hat-Trick against the Nobbers.
