Apter is up for the League 2 young player of the season award. Good luck to the lad, hope he wins it.
Don't hold your breathWell done to him. I really hope he is given a chance with us next season.
In the scheme of things the loan has done exactly what it should have done, so you'd expect him to be in and around the matchday squad for us next season.Well done to him. I really hope he is given a chance with us next season.
Totally agree @Chunkylad - he would have gone the same way as Lyons. It’ll have built his confidence no end, whereas we might have destroyed here.
We wouldn’t have destroyed him. Our head coach, who was supposedly brought in for his youth development skills, would’ve done that.Would we have been Top 6 with him?
Who knows, in many ways I’m glad he’s stayed at Tranny and not been subject to the past few months here. It’ll have built his confidence no end, whereas we might have destroyed here.
Where Dembele plays now, Rob can easily play that role, he's skilful, has guile, he's not a traditional out and out wingerThe problem is where does he play in a 3-5-2 setup? I think he’s likely to go out on loan again
He's Scouse...if that counts as local Started at Tranmere as a kidHe deserves a starting place next season from the off and plenty of opportunities to prove himself because he looks better than most of our current starting XI!
A local lad doing well in the first team is the sort of thing we need to give the supporters a lift!
It will be madness if he is not given a sustained opportunity to prove himself! But do I have faith in the current set up giving him an opportunity? Absolutely not!!
There’s a very simple solution to that problem…….The problem is where does he play in a 3-5-2 setup? I think he’s likely to go out on loan again
Please no to the 3 of them!Perhaps Sadler will see Apter as another close season saleable asset along with Gabriel and Grimshaw?
I share your fear. Please no to the 3 of them!
But I do fear that all may not be well in our changing room & our best players will move on.
It'll be a big step up from League 2 to playing for us in the ChampionshipWell done to him. I really hope he is given a chance with us next season.
Our renowned youth football coach aided his development by farming him out to other teams. We haven’t developed him at all. This is fantastic news and we’ve got a ready made Dembele replacement for next season.
The club deserves some credit for aiding his development and securing a long term deal.
He plays a different position. Let it lie....and I'd imagine Hamilton will still be ahead of him in the pecking order next season, under NC.
Hang on there. I'm pretty sure that a consistent source of criticism of Critch is that he plays inverted wingers/wing backs. Rob is a leftie that plays on the right.Apter has been played as a natural wide player encouraged to cut in on his left. We don’t play this style of player.
Chumpionship, under the wizard Critchley. It'll be a big step up from League 2 to playing for us in the Championship
They both play wide right. Why is that different? He plays a different position. Let it lie.
After we’ve just drawn 0-0 at home to ShrewsburyCritchley hinting that he's not very good at tracking back or being part of a defensive shape and that's why he was left out of the 18 to start next season is annoying me already and it's not even happened yet.
Apter won't be played at wing back. They both play wide right. Why is that different?
But CJ will.Apter won't be played at wing back.
I don't mind that. That's the point. They are not competing for the same place. Apter takes the Dembele role. But CJ will.
That's the same Dobbie currently failing to develop anyone for the first team?It would be some achievement to have a player of his talent leave us for a Championship club next season and never played for us apart from a couple of times in all the time we have had him. If Dobbie had got the job he would have been a regular in our side but that numpty Critchley can't sit on the bog seat the right way round.
I don't agree. He plays on the right for Tranmere. CJ can't defend for toffee, but plays all the time. He's not a wing back either. Needs a defender behind him.I don't mind that. That's the point. They are not competing for the same place. Apter takes the Dembele role.
They weren't dead rubbers FFS! And how do you know he's failing to develop players? Would Critchley promote anyone if they were good enough? The evidence suggests not. You've no idea how Dobbie is performing in his job. Most of his players are out in loan anyhow. It's a weird job! That's the same Dobbie currently failing to develop anyone for the first team?
He won three dead rubbers out of six, I wouldn't put all your eggs in the Dobbie basket.
