I was walking past their game on Sunday and considering the man whose name they have adopted and what he stood for during his life, they need to take a long hard look at the way their players and management conduct themselves. Jimmy would have been disgusted.
I am lead to believe this is their normal behaviour. If this is so they are an embarrassment to not only themselves but the club they represent.

my lads team plays against them and i've watched them and have to say never had a problem and they've been very sporting. Now as for the now folded Fleetwood Town, well that's a different matter.

Next time say hello and tell us how you feel in person rather than talking shite on a message board.

Sunday league is Sunday league everyone knows what ya get, no10 are all very close friends with us so the game always has a bit of needle.

What did you see/hear when you walked by? Have you come to this assumption by what you witnessed or what you have been told, which is it?? Few lads shouting expletives, committed to winning games and being the best team in the area? It's Sunday league football not netball.

Don't diss netball, my ex played it and they can be just as ruthless as the lads at Sunday football.

There is no need for the amount of vile abuse or having 'supporters' actually on the pitch.. Were I related to the great man I would have his name removed.
His son was a Sunday football player and he would not have ever been involved in any of the nonsense you lot ply.

a poor post, it’s sunday league football nothings changed and nothing will. have you played sunday football if so you must know this is the norm especially in highly charged games.

I too was at Common Edge watching the game, I didn't think it was anything like as bad as you're saying Ginge, that was a typical Sunday league game with a fair amount of whinging and the Number 10 did as much as Armfield did, if you recall their lino verbally abused the ref and ended up slinging the flag on the pitch in disgust at one of his decisions.

As mentioned by 20's the cods were on a totally different level when it came to intimidating, opponents, refs and spectators, hence why they've been thrown out of the league.

Aren't all Sunday league games the same as the one quoted?
At 14, I played in the Warrington Sunday L1. There were nearly always fights, including one game involving the players & spectators.
This started as a result of someone on the line shouting "attack that fat B*****D on the left he's F****** useless. Followed by the FB causing a mass brawl & the game being abandoned!
A lot of the players were hungover & only played to have a fight.
My football career was brought to a complete end, by a half p***** prison officer who took me out at the hips. I was later told (in hospital) that he didn't even get booked & accused me of taking the P out of him.
I think Jimmy will be smiling down on the Armfield FC & saying "them were the days".

Exactly and it’s no different then when l used to play, always competitive and you knew what you were going to get. Saturdays used to be no different either except the standard was generally better.

Got to say ,if this person thinks your are a load of hooligans , why would he come and say so . He has voiced his opinion and he has done the right thing rather then lead to more confrontation.

It's child like and they need to grow up. I can't comment on Fleetwood as I've not seen them.
The lack of discipline, subs kicking opponents, intimidation, threats, people who have little else to do going to look 'hard' and actually stand on the pitch. It's all a bit of a brainless thug exercise. It's no wonder Sunday football is failing.
Who the hell would want to be physically and verbally abused and threatened all in the name of football.
Competition is fine but many of these are just thugs who can play a bit.
I will add that not one of them would have got in your LFA cup winning side and neither would your players have conducted themselves so poorly.
I stand by what I said in my op. Jimmy wouldn't want to be any part of the 'Armfield FC' or the kind of behaviour it accepts as 'normal'.

I’ve not watched any Sunday league football for years but did watch a 5 aside game at Vida recently. Ref walked off because of all the stick he was getting. There definitely is a problem in local football, especially for referees.

It's society in general these days though, a lot of gobshites throwing around threats they can't back up, usually surrounded by their similar mates.

not gonna get too involved with this except to say i don't think sunday football is failing because of what you say. Fact is with the event of technology and all that goes with it such as the internet far less youngsters, ie children, are now playing football and it's at that age you need to get them playing if you want to get them playing in mens football. ie sunday football.

National Sunday League Trophy, Longview Eagle Huyton away. Never been so pleased to lose a game 3-2 in all my life. Made Mason Albion away at Broadwater look like a walk in the park !

Must have been a long walk if you’re only mentioning it now or did you build some evidence with your “lead to believe” statement before you decided to post 🥱

Kirkham prison was tastey we played both fixtures in the league at their place. Then we drew them in the cup it was a mad mad game. We drew so had to play them again at their place. Extra time was good as all the prisoners had to go in and the intimidation went with them. They got to the semi final one year but could not play at home so we played screws from various jails instead, that was even rougher. We won the cup so all worth it.

Played a friendly (if you could call it that) there one summer evening in my youth. Was very intimidating from the side line with all the prisoners watching including the one and only Afroman 😂😂

Nonsense most games our behaviour is good every now and then in big/tight games tensions get high and sometimes emotions get the better of people especially on a Sunday morning.
No 10 always give us a tough game and are an in your face team credit to them, they bitched and moaned as much as any team.

Also one of our players actually won an lfa medal in ragings old team so shows what you really know, we have the best team on the fylde with most of our players playing at a decent level on saturdays. In our first 3 seasons formed we’ve reached an lfa semi final and quarter final and won 2 league trophies and are well on course for winning a third.

Next time like I say introduce yourself even tho I’m pretty sure who you already are, and maybe we can have a conversation instead of you coming on here and making out we’re a bunch of bullies when we’re not.

Also just for a bit of clarity for everyone it turns out Ginge wasn't just walking past our game on Sunday at all and was In fact there supporting no10 because his son plays for them, just like he was in the reverse fixture earlier in the season where he told our management team to fuck off.

So now we’ve established you have lied about that how can any of what you’ve said have any credibility.

See you in the cup in 3 weeks.
