I have to say … I prefer away games by train so you can have a few beers etc.

It got me thinking … which ground has a train station nearest to the away fans ?

….Bolton ?

…Blackpool South ?

Must be closer ones than those surely ?

… … Exeter has the nearest station ! 113 meters but possibly not nearest to away fans end however … West Brom may be the nearest then ?

Went to have a look at the flying scotsman passing through Lancaster couple of weeks ago their grounds looks to be a solid 50 meters away. 😬

Wrexham's is pretty close

Aston Station, near Witton Lane, Villa Park
The day in 1991 we effed up promotion at Walsall, I headed back into Brum on a train from Bescot Stadium. Most of us seemed to be Southern based fans…

On the way in we stopped at a station near Villa Park and a shedload of Chelsea fans got on. They had been playing Villa.

“Who are you”, they asked and when we told them we had blown promotion they were quite sympathetic.

At the next stop, the bulk of Villa fans stood waiting to get on…and the Chelsea fans stared out at them..and the Villa fans suddenly decided they could wait for the next train…

Was at Villa Park the day they were presented with the league title, early '80's
Me n my mate had to leave early otherwise we'd have missed our connection at New St Station, Jesus wept!!
Villa had been playing Boro and Birmingham had been at home to West Ham.
So you had those three sets of fan in and around New St!!!
It was like the bloody Alomo😱🤣

Millwall

With the price of fuel these days, with a railcard I am going to both Birmingham and Norwich at a cheaper rate by train, plus with a drink or two en route.
Wiz - For Norwich, we are going via Peterborough. Booked 10.45 from there to Norwich and 17.50 back. POC's TBA
