Ballard confirmed season loan to Millwall

A Millwall fan on their forum has already said he sees this as a pointless signing as they already have 3 quality centre halves whilst another thinks he looks daft kissing the badge as a loan player. Oh well, if it doesn't work out, he can always come back!

We will never know what has happened behind the scenes. He 's a young man trying to do what's best for himself. Although I'm disappointed that he's not coming back, I think we have more mobile central defenders who will step up to the plate. Good luck for the coming season Daniel, but look forward to Mr Yates turning you in the games against us.

That badge pic is definitely a bit regrettable. No doubt he was encouraged into it by their marketing bods. He's a good lad, hope he does well.

If he doesn't get in the side much the wisdom of it will have to be questioned!

"I see this as a pointless signing, nothing to do with the player, but with Hutch, Cooper, Wallace, Pearce, Evans (who GR thinks can play CB) for that position, and sending Muller, who was knocking on the door of the first team last season, why spend a loan fee plus wages on a player we really didn't need."

"Gives us 4 quality CB’s, with Cooper, hutchenson, and Wallace. With injuries we need them and Pearce to help out in emergency. I think Pearce should have player coach role."

I can understand this move to Millwall. Being a defender and wanting to prove himself he really needs to put himself in the spotlight and test himself by going to a team that will be on the back foot in most games and under a lot of defensive pressure. Clearly, he looked at how impressive our squad is shaping up with our summer activity and decided that that team is not going to be us 😀. We will finish above Millwall...UTMP

I understand it but I'm disappointed we couldn't (or didn't) tempt him back for another season. I'm sure we won't get to know, but it would be nice to know if we were in for him or not. We move on, thanks for last season Daniel, I'm sure you've got a big future ahead and I'm sure you'd be welcomed back at the seaside as our player anytime. That said, I hope you have a couple of shockers when we meet Millwall this season 😉

I would have liked him back, even on loan, a massive presence at the back. Mind you Ekpiteta & the Viking ain't a bad partnership.

Let’s move on, great lad who did himself proud, but Critch will ensure we’ll be just as strong at the back without him

He was pivotal in our success this season and I wish him all the best.
He was never really ours to lose, and he’s a young lad whose decision making will be guided by his current club to some extent, if not totally.

We can’t control what we can’t control, so onwards and upwards.
In Sadler and Critchley we trust 👍

I genuinely thought he would come back to us either on loan or permy...my son is friends with young lady, that shall we say is on horizontal terms with DB 🤣

I used to joke with my lad that when Ballard had a good game he should tell Teigen to reward him handsomely 😉🤣

Its a shame hes not coming back but like Lala said - cant control what we cant control so onwards and upwards

Problem with loan players is this, you get 'em, they're brilliant, they have to go back and either go somewhere else or stay at their parent club.

More will come and go who we fall in love with, I'm sure there will be another Ballard this season.

Was Hoping he would come back! But glad its all been sorted and we can all move on! Wish him well for the future but i hope we finish higher that millwall

Dan will end up competing with foriegn players at Arsenal and may have little game time in the
Premiership that would be the right time to put a bid in for him.

Surely he would rather be playing every week at Blackpool than sat on the bench at Millwall
