Beesley

Will be alright backup for Lavery and Joseph. Critchley has made it clear we will be bringing in another striker.

Kevin Stewart and Madine were watching today in the stands.

I think he’ll be one of those players you go ‘remember the year we went up as Champions and Beesley started the first 5 games and we never saw him again’

I thought he did really well, same as CJ did. If you want to criticise any players I thought Marv's distribution was absolutely terrible out of defence and could have ended up much worse for us. And I have to criticise Critch for not playing Lyons in place of Connolly, who did what he can do well but was totally out of position and for not even putting Trybull on the bench, he's much better than Virtue, who may be leaving and Dougall who just isn't as good.

I don't have a problem with either his application or effort but unfortunately he's technically not quite good enough just yet to be a regular starter. I'm sure he'll improve under Critch and I sincerely hope he does because you can see he really wants to make an impression.

I thought Beesley was good today - much better than I thought he was. On a separate note, I thought grimshaw’s distribution was awful all game

How many games has Trybull played for us v Dougall? And how many times have you seen Trybull play for us? In a competitive game? You dont half chat some shit man!

thought he did really well and won a lot in the air although to not much effect. I wouldn't have taken him off if he was still ok to carry on
Agreed. They need to play together more so that Lavery can time the run to meet those flick ons better.

I've seen the few games he's played for us and I am going off a staunch Norwich supporters thoughts who tells me he was a fans favourite and wad EPL standard, he's ** miles better than Dougall, it's not me who's talking shit. Norburn and Trybull with Morgan would be a great midfield and if we could get Moxon we would be really set up

Oh right its staunch Norwich supporters from a previous time in his career? Prior to his injury issues. I get you.

If we could get Moxon.

Jackanory.... !

Beesley makes some clever runs. He's...unrefined on the ball but a good athlete. He'll do alright but we need a couple of other options. When Dale came on for him we improved energy-wise.

Not that they are similar players, but didn’t Jerry take a while to start scoring at first?Strikers need a run of starts to bed in and get calmer in front of goal.

Beesley had that bit of grit and determination first half. He hasn’t had a run of games in front of the BR crowd.
So let’s see if he’s up to this level after a few more games.

Agree with this. Not perfect by any stretch but both did well particularly Beez who played a lot better than I thought he would.

I’m guessing Lyons wasn’t right for what Critch wanted today but I know he’s a fan of Lyons as he told me himself, so he’ll be a big player for us this season.

Surely Trybull is on his way out

He did well, and is a decent player I think. Prior to today, he'd played less than a dozen times for us, most of which weren't full games and in a side struggling badly with little to no confidence. I think it's a tad harsh to judge a player in those circumstances and with so few appearances to go off. I suspect he may get into double figure this season if given a run. That said, I think Joseph might be preferred, and I'm excited at the prospect of a Lavery/Joseph partnership up front.

That's why they should of been getting an understanding going in the friendly matches, not wait until the season starts. Critch was pissing about with team selection in the friendly games when he should of been playing his first 11 imo
