Best goal you've seen AGAINST Blackpool

Bit of an odd topic this one, but I was recently reminded of our game against Man City at home in the Prem. The game ended 2-3 to City, and despite it being against us the thing I took away was the pure class of David Silvas goal. Absolutely left Vaughn and Crainey for dead and then the composure for the curled finish.

Anyway, it got me thinking if anyone else has seen a goal against us, and despite the initial disappointment, couldn't help admire the class/technique/skill.

I think 3 of the best goals I've seen scored against us came in the 95/96 season under Allardyce. At home to Bournemouth, Steve Jones.. Away at Chesterfield (can't remember the scorer but we got beat 1-0), and Joey Beauchamp away at Oxford

An ageing Clive Walker bent a beauty in to the South top corner for a pretty crap Fulham side, beat us 0-1.

Caleb Folan for chesterfield ?

2 Colchester U free kicks from the same guy. Night match I think, lost 3-2. Was it a game before the LDV final....rings a bell.

The Bournemouth goal as mentioned earlier. Most in the ground even applauded it. I'm sure Peter Beardsley got a wonder goal against us for Carlisle at Bloomfield in the early 80's. He waltzed passed about 5 of our defenders. I don't think we realised how good he was to become and blamed bad defending at the time.

Before I opened the thread, that was the one that popped into my head first. Was in the south behind the goal, it was like he slowed time down for himself.

Obscure game, but Tony Grealish scored an absolute beauty for Rotherham against us in the Leyland Daf in the 80s.
Richard Cooke for Bournemouth when Harry Redknapp was manager.

My memory is playing up I thought he scored a penalty at the south to win it...or did they beat us two years in a row? Him scoring both times? I'm sure you are right. The mists of time are catching up with us.

No idea who it was against but had the Blackpool match in my betfred goals galore both teams to score coupon. Every team in, we were 2 up at home & opponents scored for a tidy payout. Subtle smile & we held on for a 2-1 win.

He may have scored a pen the year after, but this game he just dropped his shoulder and bent in a beauty. Loads of home fans clapped it.

Ray Walker Port Vale away in about 1992?
David Eyres scored one or 2 screamers against us - Burnley 94 Nobbers 1999 ish
Paul Dalton Plymouth home 1995
Torres for Liverpool in the Premier Season

With VAR we win that game 3-1. Tevez was offside and then fouled Evatt - not shown on those highlights was the goal we scored where Grandin was flagged offside but wasnt.

I'm not bitter though. 😭

Remember Bournemouth? beating us at BR shortly after the North and West opened up. An absolute screamer scored against us at the North end and and it was probably the first time I remember looking around and seeing the vast majority applaud an opposition goal

Steve Jones (?) for Bournemouth in about 1995 at Bloomfield Road. Dipping volley (akin to Van Basten) from near the touch line by the edge of the box.

Best goal against was this one... also scored by Man City... never seen one like it since!

Was it Adam Boyd for Hartlepool, probably 10+ years ago.

A free kick I think, after he'd hit the post with one just before.

He absolutely bossed the game but I'm sure we scabbed a draw.

Long time ago now.
