Best place for live music locally?

For Blackpool it's definitely the Waterloo, but stretching a little to Lytham The Lowther have a few decent bands on this year, in between the stuff that you'd expect, such as The Tom Robinson band, King King, Glen Tilbrook, Steve Harley (for the umpteenth time) & one I've booked for in Wishbone ash.

Worst is The Jolly Tars Cleveleys. Left wing karaoke singers belting out " Stalin You Gave Me The Best Years Of My Life" and " 24 Hours From North Korea."🇺🇦

The Waterloo is superb. And while I understand the "no covers" thing - this weekend Deeper Purple are supposed to be playing on Sunday, and they're top notch.

I was rather hoping the club would use the function roon for live bands, it is a good size and presents them another revenue stream, particularly at a time when people are wondering if they can afford season tickets

Don’t forget Wishbone Ash at the Lowther Sooty!

👍
I can’t wait for the Thursday line-up!!

(For those unaware, that’s the outdoor line-up for Rebellion, the Punk festival. Your ticket covers both the Winter Gardens AND the Headlands).
You can buy separately pal Winter Gardens covers outdoor event or you can buy the Headlands on its own.👍

I wasn’t aware of that, so thanks for the info. We’ll be getting full tickets, as per, but those Headlands line-ups are amazing. I’m sure they’ll attract loads of people who might just want a one off night.

Stanley Park’s Sunday bandstands are usually good days out, once they kick off, too.
You’re not supposed to drink alcohol in the park, but they turn a blind eye if you’re discreet and behave respectfully.

If you get a chance to see April Moon do their own songs, rather than the cover’s they also do definitely worth a listen. Check their website. Covers are good too I’ll add.

Any suggestions for watching some good live music in Blackpool? No cover band bollocks.
I do at least a gig a week somewhere or other n me favourite 2 venues, in Blackpool, are the Waterloo and Compass Cafe. I’ll be at Compass Fri and Sat this week. Friday night for Paul Henshaw and Hannah John’s n Saturday night for Paul Henshaw album launch. I’ll be at the Waterloo later in the year watching Headsticks and Jess Silk, both superb!

Bootleg on Topping St is my choice but depends on your taste...Waterloo Hotel tends to be a bit heavier. Been to both. Both have good beers on too 😊
