Best smash and grab since Stoke away?

Keshi stepping up to emulate Tricky Trev's showstopper at the Victoria Ground. Still can't believe I got home alive from that one! 🏝️ 😂 🔥 👍
I couldn't make today, but a last minute winner by a side that hadn't won away all season against a team that hadn't lost at home all season was something special, but yes we were glad to get to our car safely. "the away fans will be kept behind for around 45 mins for their own safety" seems to spring to mind as the end of match announcement.

Great result today all the same.

Was thinking about the similarities between today and Prem. fixtures away at Stoke and Sunderland ( red and white stripes, smash and grab, belief we'd consolidated after promotion etc.).
Really hope we continue to progress and believe our owner/ coaching staff/ squad can feed off each other and grow together.
There's a feeling we're gaining belief and credibility; without appearing smug, or getting over-confident, it's great to prove doubters wrong.

I was in the seats and went ape when Trev scored the winner. I then received two cuts to my bonce from coins thrown from the Potters to our right. I scrambled to the top of the stand over the seats and old bill tried to push me back. I pushed past them with blood soaking my hair (such distant memories of the days when I had hair). We were kept in for 45 minutes ish, whilst old bill on horseback and with dogs cleared the home fans out. How we danced to wind them up.

To be fair Coinslot, is that how you got your username, or were their fans well ahead of their time? 😎

Didn't we have our physio (Bailey) on the bench for the Stoke smash and grab?
I Think from memory that Neil Bailey started the game alongside Briggsy, and they were both brilliant that day.

He was the youth coach and was standing in due to injuries.
The Pool fans were located on Blackpool's right as they were attacking in the 2nd half.
Stoke hadn't lost at home all season (and it was March) , and we were in danger of going down to the 4th tier.

As I recall it was a close game but Stoke held a high line, and Trev dribbled past their 2 centre halves on the halfway line, then past Bruce Grobelaar. It was the 89th minute. We went wild, and then dodged a few hundred coins thrown at us from behind the goal where Trev had just scored. Stoke fans didn't take it well.

That match still remains as my favourite away league trip, although I felt lucky to get out of Stoke unharmed that day.. I wasn't there today (wish I had been), but the circumstances were different, and the result in 1993 was, at the time, more important for our survival (which we managed).

Today was excellent, but perhaps more likely as a far better run club.

Trev nearly scored from about 40 yards in the first half as well. Very close if I recall.

I didn't go to Stoke away in 1993 but for years I had a clipping from a paper on my wall with "super surfing Seasiders sink sorry Stoke" as the headline.

That's all. As you were.

I was there also. I actually thought I might die that day.

I was also there having travelled from Warrington where I was living at the time. Who would of known that a few years later I moved into the area and straight away had bragging rights with the local clay heads!
