BFC minority shareholders

Not sure if these are the shares you mean but I bought a 120 shares in the 70's when BFC were after cash, these were later in the 80's I think , re-designated BFC Properties shares by the club. I was then going to donate the shares to BST and gave the certificates to Tam but I don't think the odious ones allowed the transfer. Good luck with the book.

Hi all,

I was wondering if anybody here was one of the people who put money into the club when they issued new shares back in the 80s? Or if you know anyone who did? It amounted to about 4.5% of shares, which was diluted to about 3% when Valeri came aboard. Would like to have a chat and get more info for the book (https://avftt.co.uk/index.php?threa...t-to-run-a-football-club-out-this-year.14824/). Cheers!
Hi Foggy, yes I’ve still got 25 but like Ballaragh I think they’re in the Properties now. I contacted the SLO who mentioned it to SS. I think he said it was something he’d look at once he’d settled in.

If I read the judgement of Marcus Smith correctly then the minority shareholding was in Blackpool FC and no longer in Segesta (BFC Properties). Indeed if it had had been in the latter company the minority shareholders would have potentially been a party to the legal action by VB? That was specifically against the Os and Segesta

Do you happen to know how much the shares cost? And was this part of a sort of advertised effort from the club saying basically ‘we need money please buy shares?’ I know other clubs sell some shares to fans almost as a sort of novelty- it’s kind of like a Christmas gift idea. Am I right in saying this was more serious, and fans knew they were paying what was probably too much for the shares but did so knowing they were helping keep the club afloat?

I always assumed they were "subscribed" for ie £1 shares for £1.

I am pretty sure the ones from 1982 were £5 per £1 share.
