When I saw the 3 subs coming on I thought what on earth is he doing. But hey what do we know?
Had plenty of stick off me since he arrived over team selection but he got it spot on at the start and got it spot on with the substitutions today. When I saw the 3 subs coming on I thought what on earth is he doing. But hey what do we know?
Your joking right?Master stroke second half .... we were getting over run until those changes
Well done Big Mick
I’m sure we won.Your joking right?
Idiotic changes from McCarthy!
We got over run for the rest of the game AFTER the changes! Brings on three defenders FFS leaving no outball. Just inviting waves of Stoke attacks!
If he's taking off Poveda and Rogers then he has to bring on Bowler at that point (or lavery) to support Jerry.
Yes we did. But come on, you know I know you do 5 mins to go fair enough but 60 mins had gone. And any chance of scoring again went at that point. Yes we hung on but the substitutions weren’t the reasonI’m sure we won.
My thoughts exactly OLSome " fans" will never be happy we won as they want McCarthy and the Board to fail.Knobheads
nope, Stoke were far more dangerous before the subs. And having CJ alongside Jerry meant there were two out balls even though CJ was poor. Was baffled when I saw who the three coming on were as they were all basically full backs but the manager got it spot on with Garbutt sitting out wide in front of Thompson and same with Gabriel on otherside.Your joking right?

The attack was none existent when the subs were made . Bowler has been clocked not coming back as much as he should and we were winning the game for once . You must be blind if you think we were still looking like scoring . The right thing was done and the result proved it. We had luck admittedly , but keeping ineffective forwards on when winning is just silly. Those substitutions were ridiculous, could make a case for Thompson but Garbutt in midfield??? Makes no sense all goal threat from us just vanished at that point and yes I know we hung on but bleeding hell. And that was on 60 mins!! Poveda and Rogers weren’t knackered they were playing well but if he was that desperate to get a back 5 ok bring Thompson on but why take them both off? Stoke weren‘t great at the back but blimey CJ at centre forward give me strength. He got away with it Big Mick, I like the bloke but god he’s negative in his substitutions and obstinate in not playing Bowler
Pretty much our only threat after our goal was the sitter which CJ missed. That threat came about because we had two men up front down the middle. Jerry on his own and that situation would have been dealt with comfortably.I love how people are saying he removed all our attacking threat when he made the subs.....exactly what threat was that? It's not like we were knocking on the door was it? We didn't need to have much of a threat, we already had the lead. I know our fans aren't used to that, but we needed to protect what we had, and it was totally justified because we won. If he'd left it and we'd conceded because of Poveda or Rogers not tracking back, MM would've been given dogs abuse. We all know it's true.
You are kiddingYour joking right?

Totally agree, we won despite the subs not because of them, credit to mick for the team selection at the start though, imagine this board if we’d have lost after taking off 3 of our best playersYour joking right?

if,if if, but we didn't. The changes worked today so credit the manager. I've given him enough stick these last few weeks but today he deserves credit. Stoke weren't the threat they were prior to the subs and we created our only chance after the subs were made.Totally agree, we won despite the subs not because of them, credit to mick for the team selection at the start though, imagine this board if we’d have lost after taking off 3 of our best players
I would say we played better after the subs, and we even had more chances which is ** mental seeing as it was 5 at the back!Your joking right?

Clueless armchair manager, we have a lot of them don’t we?Your joking right?

I’m giving him credit and the if, if, ifs are just personal opinions, it turned out well but it seemed Graysons tactics were back, also I disagree that stoke weren’t as much as a threat after the subs, I felt more nervousif,if if, but we didn't. We were very solid when we went to three at the back. Gabriel, Garbs and Dom were excellent.Master stroke second half .... we were getting over run until those changes

Yes We did, but it could have been a disaster. We were playing the best football since the early goal. And he takes off 2 front men and a midfielder for 3 defensive players.I’m sure we won.
I dont think Appleton would have won that game as he wouldnt have changed it up and we would eventually have been worn downWhen I saw the 3 subs coming on I thought what on earth is he doing. But hey what do we know?

I think it only natural to feel more nervous the longer the game goes on and the closer to the final whistle you get.I’m giving him credit and the if, if, ifs are just personal opinions, it turned out well but it seemed Graysons tactics were back, also I disagree that stoke weren’t as much as a threat after the subs, I felt more nervous
Nonsense......I dont think Appleton would have won that game as he wouldnt have changed it up and we would eventually have been worn down
Yes indeed! I see two or three replies to my original message that confirms this!Clueless armchair manager, we have a lot of them don’t we?
Not strictly true we nearly broke away through Jerry and CJ twice and should have actually won 2-0 in the endYes we did. But come on, you know I know you do 5 mins to go fair enough but 60 mins had gone. And any chance of scoring again went at that point. Yes we hung on but the substitutions weren’t the reason
None sense Poveda and Rodger’s were done in. Sooooo obviousThose substitutions were ridiculous, could make a case for Thompson but Garbutt in midfield??? Agreed but it wasn’t to shore things up with 10/15 minutes to go, it was half an hour, typical Grayson tactics but all that matters is the result obviously, I just felt that 2 defenders and bowler would have been enough to get us through with at least an opportunity to get the second goalI think it only natural to feel more nervous the longer the game goes on and the closer to the final whistle you get.
CJ should have made it 2Yes we did. But come on, you know I know you do 5 mins to go fair enough but 60 mins had gone. And any chance of scoring again went at that point. Yes we hung on but the substitutions weren’t the reason
I got more likes than you. . If the cap fits ..Nobody that supports Blackpool wants McCarthy or the board to fail.
Delighted we won today! Knobhead.
Did we win the game or what?Yes indeed! I see two or three replies to my original message that confirms this!
If you don't think Bowler or Lavery should have been one of the three changes, then we'll just agree to disagree.
Correct. Amazing people go and watch football and can’t understand basic tacticsThe subs were a masterstroke. Stoke were absolutely dominating out wide and bringing on pacey full backs who can make a header and adding another body in midfield in to put themselves about helped to nullify that attack and forced Stoke to play long balls from deep.
McCarthy was spot on. Before those subs I thought a Stoke goal was inevitable. Afterwards they still dominated the game but looked a lot less threatening
But we won didn't we, so he was rightYour joking right?

Yes boys. We won the game, and at the end of the day, I suppose that's all that matters! But we won didn't we, so he was right
