Biggest away following?

Does anyone know the biggest away crowd we’ve took, particularly in recent times? Just wondering as Gazette think we could approach 5k sales. Can’t be many times we’ve took 5k+ (recently)

5,300 to Deepdale for the 1-0 Charlie Adam win, before both clubs began the tit for tat nonsense bollocks with ticket allocation.

4,500 on Saturday a decent turn out. Looking forward to it

Saturday should be the most we've ever taken to a league 1 away fixture.

I know we took a lot to Burnley for a night match in the 80s or 90s, but I don't believe it was as many as this.
And we never used to take near this many to Bolton in the bottom 2 tiers.

How many did we take to Everton in the FA cup 2011/12? Was a decent amount wasn’t it?

We took about 6000 to Burnley in the 90s Tuesday night game, the gates got kicked in it was packed
I was at that one, but we never knew the true number, and fans did tend to exaggerate their away followings😉

I think the official gate was around 18,000 though.

I'll settle for saturday being our biggest RECORDED away following in league 1.

RYAN LOWER DIVISION is begging KNOBBERS to sell out at T,Rovers on Fri night. 1000 years in the Championship. PRICELESS.
‘1000 boring years in the championship indeed’

Plus it’s…
On TV.
Friday night.
1 win in the last 8.
18 goals conceded.

And yet…
5400+ sold at present.

Looking likely to sell out 5690…

Not bad going really.

20 mins down the road and in a play off position. Be poor if you didn't sell out ffs!

Thought there was a new years day match at Burnley late 70's and there were comfortably more than 6000

Did we have the cricket field bit as well as the longside(sp?)?

Remember Paul Gardner throwing Bryan Flynn's boot into our end. Cold day, 0-0????

How many did you take in the last seasons to rovers .
Enough said you lot talk a lot of shite.
There will probably pay on the gate also so could end up 6,000 .
Our average away following is over 2,000 top 8 in the division
Preston is closer to Blackburn than it is Blackpool and many of your south ribble fans see it as your biggest game and you’re in the play offs and its 10 minutes away. We’re taking over 4.5k to Bolton in a league below.

Preston to Blackburn 10 miles
Blackpool to horwich 40 miles
And we’ve sold as many tickets as possible so you can say we’re deluded or found our level when thats just not the truth you fool

7000 is the general agreed estimate at Burnley.
We had 500 in the Bob Lord stand; 500 in the cricket Stand and we filled the away kop with 5000.
However, the gates got smashed open and am estimated 500 rushed in, Hillsborough style for free.
Hundreds more either locked out, or in the home ends.

I have never been as crushed as that night. It was an enormous, astonishing support.
45 coaches in a super convoy.

Not sure why anyone cares what the boring ** thinks. He is probably sat in his bedsit with no friends and all he has in life is posting boring shite on our fans pages. Just ignore the sad ****

Agreed by who?

It was a fantastic following that night but 7k is stretching it somewhat.

I would guesstimate at around 5-5,500.

Yep 28th Dec 1976,
Massive turnout, I am convinced there were more Pool than Burnley at that match. Just remember it took about 20 minutes to go from bottom to top of stand.

It was an extraordinary and unexpected turnout. I can't remember the exact route we took from the M6 but it was rammed all the way and never let up, like you'd expect if there was a breakdown a bit ahead.

Also the number of coaches that night was eyewatering.

A proud night to be a righteous Pool fan.

6k at Walsall. Similar at Lincoln?
Burney was 6k plus too. They had to open up another seating section and that got filled too.

Only top 8, because you were top of the Championship for quite a while and feeling giddy.

Watch your away followings slump after saturday.
Average following was rather good last season too, especially for a boring, mediocre, never-do-anything club. The fans are remarkably resilient.

OHH NO . not the hammering at those Euro heavyweights Barnet FC...

was that about 1997. . yes me and son was at that one.
It was the 1990/91 season
I was at law school in Chester and blagged a lift off a fellow student- a Scottish Man Utd supporter who owned a car. A couple of Wimbledon fans came with us
A certain Mr Brett Gerrity also came with us

We will never know how many were there because the doors went through just after we got in the ground and it looked like the hundreds and hundreds ran in

It was a big turn out that’s for sure
