Birmingham v Blackpool Official Matchday Thread 22.04.23

Didn't see that result coming at all, shame some of the other results haven't done us any favours.
Well done lads!

I think we may just be prolonging the agony though....

Well done to Blackpool, a good solid away win there, better side 2nd half.

Unbelievably bad luck with results, but typical I guess.

Rotherham Hudds and Cardiff all have a game in hand. Feel like if there's any wins for them that'll be it for us.

We can't be looking at their results though.

The only way we'll manage this is if we save ourselves.

Only wins are good enough for our final 2 games.

First half was a bit of a non event. Second half I thought we were far and away the better team. Not saying much as Birmingham were incredibly ordinary.

Just a pity QPR are going to pick up 3 points.

decent performance, brum are no great shakes but the whole team stood up. decent passages of attacking football, defensively resolute and organised, first half was a bit meh but second half we seemed to come out with a different attitude.

Hudds to play Cardiff still.

Cardiff have to play both Rotherham and Huddersfield, which makes it interesting (and also difficult to work out what results we want).

No matter what you think of Dobbie, the fact is he's now won two in four games, two clean sheets in four, got our first away win since October, and all this while contending with a completely ridiculous and abnormal injury list to the point we have no fit strikers.
We've been better in almost every way possible since he's become manager. We may not choose him this time, but I'm very confident he'll become Blackpool manager one day, and do a pretty good job of it too. I would be fine with him becoming the manager for next season tbh.

By my basic sums... If we beat millwall by 6 clear goals... We will reach the giddy heights of 4th from bottom by 10.15pm Friday night?

Yeah 1 win and they're beyond us bar Huddersfield, we'd be level if they won 1 and lost rhythm reast and we won ours.

With GD, we'd have to win by a couple of goals each game probably.

It's probably too little too late unfortunately.

Unless one of those teams above loses all 3 and we win.

Yep a lot mocked when I said to get him in as he knew the players and might be able to hit the ground running, no experience etc was said. Really glad we got Micks experience instead.
I know I was one of them,I just thought it was too soon for him in dangerous circumstances.I think I might’ve been wrong and it looks like it could work.

I just think if we are rebuilding the style and approach from scratch next season then is he the man to implement a new project.I like what I’m seeing from the coaching staff to be honest and the continuity of him has clicked with the players.

Reading play Wigan and Huddersfield as well, so it's going to be really difficult to work out
Our only hope i feel is huddersfield losing all 3 and Wigan beating Reading, as long as we win both

Also to add the two games he lost were both against playoff contenders and we were leading in one of them. Well done SD, I along with many others hope you get the job so we can go on another best trip.
