EXCLUSIVE: The Colby Bishop transfer saga has taken another twist - Blackpool’s move for the striker is now OFF. A fee and personal terms had been agreed, but The Gazette understands the Seasiders have decided not to pursue the move.

That will piss Pompey Off!
 
I'm hoping it's more that another target has suddenly become available and we've decided to go all out on them instead. Maybe that's just wishful thinking though.
 
Now it's not happening, a comment from a BFC official might be nice. I know we are keeping our cards close to our chests but when the fans read that personal terms AND fee is agreed, then it's off, it might be nice to be told the reason, even if they don't tell us too much to spoil something down the line.
 
Maybe his agent has asked for something that the club are not prepared to pay.

If the player is keen..this agent request may be dropped and the deal gets resurrected.
 
If everything really was agreed then this is strange, the only thing I can think of is we're now getting someone with a better pedigree than Bishop and we couldn't afford both so the Bishop deal needed to be cancelled.

Hard on Bishop but welcome to the industry.

Could signal a really decent signing in the pipes.

I think we just have to be patient and assume they know what they are doing . A comment other than one with no real information (which would be pointless) may well jeopardise some future deal , who knows 🤷‍♂️
 
Hopefully the deal was not done by our transfer committee, only to be vetoed by an Appleton strop, as this would be the most worrying scenario for me
 
Ive no idea why we decided not to go ahead with the deal but we certainly need better quality up front we just dont convert enough chances ive nothing against any of our forwards they just dont score enough and that will prove our downfall time and time again if we cant improve on the current situation.

I agree. The club should only announce facts, not comment on speculation or what has not happened.

Agree, and if true we have only done to the player what he did to Pompey. What goes around comes around.. might have to go back on bended knees to Portsmouth!

Different position and relatively low wages, you're not going to pull out of a £500,000 transfer just because you can't immediately find a loan for a player like that.

Either it's medical, or someone has tried to add something to the deal at the last minute that the club finds unacceptable, perhaps a release clause for the player, or some kind of add-ons for Stanley.

My suspicion is the deal will be resurrected, maybe the leak to Scrafton is the club doing its own bit of negotiating.
 
We usually like to keep things close to our chest, so wouldnt surprise me if we announce someone today or tomorrow that we've never even been linked with. I'd rather the £500k get put towards a quality MF if I'm honest. I really think that Yates can get so many more goals if he just has the service.
