Blackburn v Blackpool Official Matchnight Thread 21.02.23

There's just too many misplaced passes or poor passes, too many wrong decisions, playing a style that often doesn't suit.

We need a big performance and at least 2 moments of real quality to get 2 goals, probably 3 to win it as we're not solid.

I hope it happens but right now I can't see it.

I think that's the problem Voy. The players simply aren't good enough to compete at this level of football. That's why we are where we are. You can dress a pig in a pretty brides dress, but it's still a pig 🐷
Coaching this season will not make these players any better. All we can ask is that they give their all, which they did on Saturday but aren't tonight.
 
Very disappointing. Far too much time and space in the lead up to their goal. The pass was allowed to travel for what seemed an age across our box without being cut out.

We have to treat every match as an opportunity, especially after Saturday. But we look too scared of making a mistake when we're on the ball, so end up getting rid and subsequently losing possession.

Hope MM takes Carey off, puts Poveda in the middle, and brings on Bowler.

Carey a good player on his day, but today he's not got into the game.
 
SS fucked up appointing MA. Writing was on the wall. MM was a good appointment in my opinion BUT why wasn't 2 forwards brought in not defenders? Our goals against isn't as bad as it could be but it's creating chances and scoring where are problems lie. Yates needs a proven scorer next to him and would give him another season. Madine has to go. All loans to go bk and ffs make permanent signings next season NOT loans!

Need to hoik Patino as he is to lightweight. Put Carey in midfield. Move poveda behind lavery and get bowler on.
 
Yates looked like he was playing with a knock and 1st sign of a problem and you get off.

Fiorini no doubt been rested for Saturday.

Get Bowler on Pov in Carey's place.

There's a point in this game, so don't slit your wrists just yet.

"Giving their all" equates to picking up injuries and tired limbs. Relaxed players passing the ball to one another generally stay injury free.

Critchley had a worse squad than we have now. So I disagree. The same players look worse now cos the coaching and management isn't as good.

You're probably right but then neither had Yates really got into the game. They are hurrying us. I'm not that concerned. I don't have this down as a win or a draw. We have other rish to fry. A point will be excellent.
 
Blackburn have quality on and off the pitch even without 2 key players. We look like we have an identity crisis not really knowing whether to twist or stick. We simply have to be aggressively attacking every game. Bowler right and Poveda #10.

We'll have to differ Voy, as these players cannot do the basic things right. That's not poor coaching, it's insufficient skill and ability for this level.
This has resulted in the number of red cards & points we have.
 
Do they look amazing? No. But compare how they can pass it out from the back and retain possession under pressure to us who gives it away within three passes and have to foul them in our own half. Not good enough.
