Flexibility of work force could also mean job insecurity, and people struggle to rent even if they are the politicians favourite, a hard working family. Having a secure job and an affordable, decent home shouldn't be a lot to ask if you have a full time job. She contributed to these things now being a lot harder to attain by selling off council property without much thought to replacing it.
She will have got some things right and I agree that British politicians from all parties are inferior in that they don't have a vision or the ability to see it through.
One of the main reasons I was against Brexit was because it gave more power to inferior and self serving British politicians whatever party they hide their true intentions in.

The people who bought their council homes finally had their own place to live and an asset to pass on.
Why is a secure job for life a given anyway - companies come and go - that’s a free market economy which is better than any other system.
….and I voted to remain as leaving was just dumb.

The UK was the diseased person of Europe in 1979 when she came to power - mainly down to the Unions and a terrible Labour government.
What I would have given for her to be in power at her prime for the last 10 years at least.

Having worked in South Yorks, Notts and Derbyshire at the height of the miners' strike I saw the social and economic impact of her "success". Not for me thank you. There was a better way. The fact that Labour failed to find it or sell it is on them.You are just bitter about her success

She made millions of people's "lot" much worse, the highest rate of unemployment this country had ever seen. She destroyed communities, politicised the police, turned a blind eye to incompetence and corruption if it served her.
She paid down the National Debt by selling off the publically owned organisations, she failed to reinvest the millions taken from council house sales in building more housing. She left the UK net far worse off, but enriched the few and created a me first culture, killing off social cohesion.

People forget certain things, one being that Labour closed many more Mines than Maggie - yet she gets all the grief.
The Mines were losing money and it was unsustainable.
Anyway bud, for someone who is into wildlife, ethical trading and the climate - you should thank her for being ahead of her time!

There are no positives about Thatcher she was an unmitigated disater for the country both economically and morally. She ushered in a laisse faire attitude from sex to economics. her one chance at redemption was council house sales, that was genius, the abject failure to build more was not. I hope her grave is sealed in molten lead ot Sunak may reappoint her.
Maybe she could've done what she did with more compassion and kindness, bringing the country together not dividing it.
I'm not a fan, but she wouldn't have brought about Brexit, it's obviously a stupid thing to do.

Thatcher sold off Council houses for a fraction of their value to buy votes and we have never recovered from the shortage of housing. That’s without anything to do with the miners and making city bankers rich selling our assets.

What she did was remove social housing from the poor and sold it cheap. Then she prevented the next generation from having any available housing by preventing Councils building any more. Surely you can see that.So in your opinion she made housing to cheap, so people could afford it?
