Blackpool v Burton Official Matchnight Thread 10.01.24

Burton deserve an equaliser. We look so poor defensively. Thankfully there is an excuse tonight with the manager ringing the changes.

So the radio reiterate the Gazette, and you 'think' Mansford said it. Thanks for the conclusive finality on the subject. Bonfire duly doused...
I'm not sure what you are all trying to prove? It's just what was said at the time, I'm not having a pop at anyone but let's not rewrite history, 2 or 3 of the players signed when Appleton joined were targets found by the recruitment team before Critchley left, surely that is common practice?

I think I preferred it when you weren't posting.

I've got news for you, you'll be hearing a lot more from me. What exactly were you trying to prove by the way? Live in the real world, not the world of Gazette or speculation. You know nothing, so don't pretend you do.

Got through it. Shifting Dom Thompson to left of a back three was certainly a choice. Bless him looked like his leg had come off at the end.

Elsewhere in Europe there have been a couple of tasty local derbies. In Rome it ended a boring 1-0 but three players were sent off, the first a Lazio player in the 96yh minute, then two Roma players in the 109th and 110th. Meanwhile in Madrid it's 3-3 in added time.

Main positives were minutes for Dougall and Lavery. Great to see them back.

Defensively still look shaky but excuse tonight with the changes.

Thompson is frustrating. Decent player there but stupid decision making.

The players did ok with Dale the standout.

Thought Burton were the better team in general play but we didn't have to chase the game. We always carried more of a threat going forward.

Job done and we move on in the competition. I liked the look of Moore when he came on, thought he made an impact and Dale is a cracking player when he's on form.

I can't see how you can say Burton were the better team.

They were ok, but I thought we were better than them.

A decent performance against an agricultural Burton and a ref who cost us a potential 3rd. How we ended up with the same amount of yellow cards as their thugs is a mystery.

This competition has been good for the fringe players but some just aren't up to it.

Great to see Lavery and Dougall back. Dale was my MOM, even though Virtue did play well. No doubt we'll end up away to Brighton U21s next.

It wasn't;speculation though was it? It wasn't even controversial. so not sure why you are so aggressive in your reaction to the posts and to some other posters. I don't think your anger management course worked, waste of money.

I just want to see what he's made of. He's done well everywhere he's gone so why not for us? You seem very angry though, hope you feel better soon.
Mate i'm the least angriest person there is. Totally relaxed and enjoying life. Got a few quid, no pressures, great wife, great kids, life couldn't be better to be honest.

Back to football - if you want to see what Apter is 'made of', does that mean Critchley compromises what he thinks is his best starting XI and bench, just to satisfy you, or would you accept that the reason he was farmed out to a lower-level League 2 side is because he's not ready, and may never be ready, to step up to the grade of playing for Blackpool. If you want to see what he's made of, get yourself on YouTube and search out his goals and performances, but please, don't wail about a player being given a chance when you've not bothered to do your research.
I want Blackpool to go up this season - and at least make the play-offs. What do you want?

Agree with all of that but I thought we were the better team over 90.
