Blackpool v Huddersfield Official Matchnight Thread 14.09.21

Stewart not starting is a gamble for me, when is Sterling going to play, hope a Madine gets a decent run

Stewart has just come back from injury, expecting him to play 3 games in a week is madness and asking for trouble. Keshi has been fantastic but think the rotation is more of a slight tactical change. A good bench is a sign of a strong team, hopefully those selected give another big performance.

NC doesn't half keep you guessing, Keshi is a big call as he's been brilliant lately, but NC knows best as we see time and again, bench is the strongest ive seen. Common Blackpool!!!

People predicting a loss are just keeping themselves in check, think the worst hope for the best, that's supporting your team, Ive no idea!

Evenly matched stuff.

Only slight criticism is that due to our high press we do look a little open in midfield.

But look good going forward. Just need a killer ball from either wing.
That deflected shot at the death could have gone anywhere. Due a bit of luck. Pressing well and will get rewards if we can maintain the tempo.

Decent half, I'd say we've edged it. Keogh and Big Ek looking solid. Hopefully Bowler comes out and has his customary second half improvement. He's not been bad as such, but he's run into a few blind alleys.

A few half time thoughts from the south.
They've clearly been given instructions to stop bowler from getting a run on them. There's 2 or 3 on him

TJJ having a good game. The only way they can deal with him is to continually pull him back. He had to remind the ref that it was the 5th time in order for the ref to book their lad. His first touch is leaving them for dead

A little concerned that our DM is being drawn from the central area. A few times they have been able to thread a 15 yard ball up the middle.

Big Marv excellent again, but player of the half for me was Gabriel, he's been outstanding.

Thanks for that. I´m watching on TTV. My brother is there and eches what you say about JJ, he says he´s unplayable.Well in this. UTMP!

29.5% possession?? Wouldn’t agree with that
I would.. they're playing it around their penalty area.

I don't get the obsesssion with posesssion... it's pretty meaningless. Shots is a better statistic but imperfect. I'd rather just watch it and form my own opinion.

I thinkour back 4 have all been excellent, Marv really does stand out but Keogh has matched him, having a proper right back makes all the difference.

Dougall had a good shot but hasn't settled back into the team yet. Wintle looks a real find, strong in the tackle and gets it forward quickly and accurately. They have 2 on Bowler and he's still beaten them but his lay offs are poor. Yates and Lavery starting to link together well, TJJ is a bit hit and miss so I expect Anderson coming on for him second half and maybe Stewart for Dougall. I thought we edged that half but not much in it.
