Blackpool v Leyton Orient Official Matchday Thread 19.08.23

Today's result makes the difference with how people will think we've started.

Win today and its pretty good, especially if no goals conceded.

Draw or even lose and people won't be as happy.

But it is about the performance too, but if we perform well we should be able to win the game.

If anyone read the Port Vale forum after the game on Tuesday, CJ Hamilton was the player that stood out the most for them. In fact I don't think they mentioned many other players of ours. His speed is unusual for League One.
It is, but he does absolutely nothing with it. Nothing. He's the least creative winger I've ever seen at Blackpool.

We'll be a substantially better side when he isn't playing. He'll have a blinder today and score, but our future is better with CJ not starting games. And better quality brought in.

CJ is a player that certainly divides opinion, to be fair to him we have to decide what his best position is, is he a winger, wing back or inverted whatever?
If he's a winger, play him there, take away his defensive duties, maybe he can't do both?
If we've got someone better, stick him on the bench as an impact sub.

I've yet to decide, which is pretty strange as he's been at the club long enough to realise where he should play and if he's good enough.
The enigma that is CJ. I hope he has an absolute blinder today!

The problem is we’re predictable. Where’s our goals coming from? Lavery. Can Marv distribute under pressure ? Can he eck. Mark lavery, keep Norburn quiet and pressure the defense who are flat footed and you must fancy your chances playing against us. Early days yet and I still think we’ll win today but a lack of a plan b is worrisome.

What I'm seeing here is a disjointed BFC team huffing and puffing to little effect against the worst side in the division.
